Heading outside for my second flight without training wheels. Wish me luck (well, don't worry about it for I will be outside before you reply ). Hopefully I will return with good news. Made a helipad out of more of the blue insulation foam board I had laying around. It will be easy to see out of my peripheral view for sure.

Isn't that a neat feeling when you can finally take off and land without the trainer gear?
It's kind of a first BIG step in a whole series of steps to becomming a REAL heli pilot!
Congrats.......keep at it!!!

Thanky, thanky, thanky. And it was. :YeaBaby: Windy as heck. WOuld go from 100% calm to serious gusts. It's all on tape. No more fishing stories from me [thinks of his first few flights and the text discriptions he use to have to give]. ;)
Yea, blue foam stinks for a helipad. Rotorwash blew it a bit. But I was able to use it for that drill but will make one out of some wood probably. Heated up my ESC trying to do landings. Guess I need to bump up the head speed.
DL'ing video now. Will hopefully be able to post before I go gaming tonight.
Now, time for a snack to replenish the energy that flight took out of me.

Translation for the rest.....BEER!
Cool, glad you had success again!
I am no expert but may I suggest something like 0-60-80-90-100 to start with? Whatever you decide you will find 'your' nitch and LOVE how she handles the winds especially coming down from an altitude.

Well, no video tonight. I may upload after gaming, not enough time left to do it and I want to fly on the sim some. Time for more food and then the P word. Get your mind out of the toilet, I meant Phoenix.
