Meaning of Mode 1 or Mode 2

What does Mode 1 and Mode 2 Mean on a transmitter or other Heli product?

Hey,
Mode 1 has the throttle/rudder on the right stick and mode two has it on the left. Most computer radios are interchangable. Some more complicated than others.

Mode 1 - Throttle and Aileron on the right stick, elevator and rudder on the left..

Mode 2 - throttle and rudder on the left, aileron and elevator on the right.

Mode 1 is not very popular here in the states, but seems to be a lot of other places.

Fortunately I ordered a mode 2 Great Plains Realflight simulator. The "Mode 2" was completely by luck! -Migs
