This "post" is also over in the "Battery" section but it's probably more apropriate to be in the CX & CX2 section :)
I have a friend who has a used CX and it has "installed by previous owner" a set of Deans Micro Plug Red Polarized 2R. The part number is WSD1222
The drawback is the local stores don't carry these. So I'm looking for more of your input....
Ok what connectors are others with the "CX & CX2" using on your batteries?

If You can solder, the micro deans are actually BETTER than what comes stock; they offer less resistance to current flow that translates to more power. It is more important and noticeable in larger helis, however.
The previous owner certainly took pride in his helis and has experience.
You can get them online easily; just google 'micro deans.'
I don't know what the original connectors are called, but You if You replace the deans, You will have to 'pin' them and that takes some skill and special pliars as well, unless You splice them (back to soldering). They are similar to the connector as what the motors have; HOWEVER, they are polarized to prevent You from reversing the polarity and instantly frying Your 3/4-1 unit. If You use a spare motor connector, You will not have this luxury.
I would just go with the best and order more and CONVERT !
I'm gonna convert all of mine to Micro Deans.
Sorry could not be more help.

Ok I've more than my "share" of soldering (work as an E-tech several years ago) but I have no "Formal" training in the art of soldering. Can you explain to me what you mean by "Pin them". Got any way you can describe what that means and how it's done?
Thanks for the input. That's AWESOME!!

I just meant that the original owner cut off the original connectors and 'deaned' them; so You would have to put pins on the wires for the original factory connector if You went back to them.
I wish I knew what the connectors are called, but I'm sure Horizon Hobby has them; they are just a 2 pin connector

Oh ok! Now I know what you mean! And that makes sense. I think I'm going to order him some "Micro Deans" connectors from the LHS (in case we need more) and convert ALL his batteries and mine over. This way we're both running the same thing so we can try different things out.
Thanks for all of your help :)
