Has anyone tried a Futaba G190 Rate Peizo Gyro in a 600E class heli?
- Will it handle standard size servos?
- Is there any reason not to try it?
- Any other recommendations for an inexpensive rate only gyro for a 600E class bird?
Thought I'd ask over here since the 3d crowd all use HH gyros.

Ok, leads look like they are thinner gauge wire. Could probably just run bypass power and ground leads in case servo draws too much and be in business.
Let me ask another question. For those of you flying in rate mode:
- What is everybody using for a rate mode gyro on their 600E?
- Do you find it annoying to startup in HH mode every time you power up?
- Are there any gyros for a larger bird that do not require startup in HH mode?
The GY240 does select Rate/HH mode by a switch prior to startup. :)
- Are there any others?

I use HH in all my scale helis.
You can use a gy401 and set it up for rate mode if you like. There's really no reason not to use HH...

Most of my yaw rate gyros have been relagated to my scale fleet (4 at the moment).
This little basic piezo is even on a 50 size scaler:

The tail requirements for scale is much less demanding then for 3D. In fact I have found the yaw rate settings make for easier scale flight because in forward flight, the tail will weather vane along the flight path in a turn in a very scale like manner. A bit harder to accomplish in the HH mode.
