I've been flying my Blade 400 for about 4 months now, and bought a used Hawk Sport for $150. I got 4 sets of woodies with it, an almost complete spare airframe, servos, PG2000 gyro, OS SZ .30 motor,2400 mah rx pack and a spare conopy.
All I need is a windsheild for the canopy, a #8 glow plug and the reciever.

Question to you guys, will a 6100 receiver work or do I need to buy the 6200?

I am going to use my DX6i radio that came with my 400.

I am curious as to what you guys think and why...

i would say a 6100 will work as long as you are not planning on running a gov. i would go for the 6200 though because of the second antennae. i am using the 6100 in my t500 with zero problems so far. if you do want to run a gov then you will need 7 channels.

i would say a 6100 will work as long as you are not planning on running a gov.Yikes! I completely disagree. From Spektrum's site:

"At only 4.4 grams and 19.0mm x 30.0mm x 9.0mm (WxLxH), the AR6100 is the ultimate 2.4GHz receiver for most any small electric model from mini profile foamies to 400 class helis"

A 30 size nitro helicopter does not qualify, and should not be flown with an AR6100. It is far too easy for the large metal components in a machine this size to block the antenna and cause a crash. As they say "your mileage may vary" but I wouldn't even consider using a 6100 in anything bigger (more dangerous!) than a 400-450 size heli.
