Hey Merc how about a quick run down on maximizing piro rate for v stabi??

I followed the procedure for the optimizing the tail in the software, but the tail is still slower than I'd like.

With other heli's I've always just cranked the rudder atv to 140% but I'm afraid to do that with v stabi. Is it just a matter of increasing gain?

My heli is flying really good and I am slow to tinkering with v stabi without having a more solid understanding of the software..

crank up the ATVs.....

try it on the ailerons and pitch for the same effect :)

I found 100% gain on the L500 painfully slow and even at 115% it's by no means fast so I'd agree with Ian - crank up the Tail Rate either through the L500 plug in or Flt Parameters page - I also had to run down the gain as I was getting fast tail oscillation at high speed and basically set up Bank 0 for Hover with Tail Rate/Gain 100/70 and Bank 1 for FFF at 120/63. Likewise on Cyclic for the main rotor I found values in the 85-90 range necessary to make it interesting ;)

Just to let you guys know I put the rudder ATV's to 140% and redid the rudder setup in Vstabi.

I also increased the gain to the rudder to 125.

The tail is very fast now. Much better. I think I could make it even better, but I will fly it like it is for awhile and see how it goes. The tail is locked in nicely, and I don't want to push it too far and louse that up.

ps I'm not going to do the cyclic atv's to 140 lol this thing is insane at 100 I don't think I could keep it in the air with the cyclics at 140.

The 8717's are ridiculous. In fact this setup is ridiculous. I fall asleep flying my 600e now.

i run my cyclics at 120 for pitch 130 for roll, it is crazy!!! stability at 70% too, and using V-Blade Extreme TSTs, i love how fast it is
