Did someone ask about ground clearance? I have 1.25" from the ground to the bottom of my tail fin.

Why the giant gear Lock? Do you dislike mowing the lawn that much or is it just a training thing?

Wanted more clearance and since the burned up 600 was just sitting there......viola, they are a little warped from the fire, but I like them. No more training geat for me....started fresh with the 600 with no gear, well is that an accomplishment
I'm getting there SLOW but sure by mid summer I might do a loop :dontknow

Ahh I see. I was just wondering why you were concerned about clearance but still willing to spin $45 dollar blades:P

Well like most of us, its a guessing game for me......I see something (someone else did the 600 skids before me) and I think huh,, and try it......I'm just a big copy cat have no original ideas. BUSTED!

The description says: "Includes: 2 struts and hardware, can be used with original metal skid pipes."
Does that mean it doesn't come with skids and only the polymer plastic or that you can use the stock (in this case T-Rex) metal skids if you want?
Also, the picture shows 2 types of heights, a "High" and a "Low Profile" version. The "Low" is obviously low so does that mean the "Stock" is the high version? I don't want it to look like a hunchback heli:confused:

I think the low is the stock size. The other is higher. If/when I order them, I will get the high ones to give more ground clearance for the tail rotor. Not sure on the skids themselves. Shoot them an email. If you have to use your own, I hope the B4 rails work.

the high ones are stock hieght for the b400 and the skids on the b400 are too small but you could probably make them work i just bought the trex 450 skids as well.

Bummer. Thanks for the info NRM. I might just have to get some 600 gear like Lock uses then. I think I would like a little more ground clerence. Lock has 600's on his I think and his heli is stable.

Yes I do, forget who it was but I think they put 500 trex skids on 1/4" less clearnce then me, but looks WAY better.

I think the larger skids look out of proportion to the heli. I'm a stickler on those type of things.
Here's a tip I learned recently.
Get one set of standard height and one set of low profile gorilla gear.
Standard in the back and low profile in the front tilts the nose of the heli down and therefore the tail is raised substantially.
I haven't done it yet because I think it's ridiculous to pay $40 for struts.
I have seen it on a guys T-rex and I think it looks awesome.
BTW, if anyone is interested in sharing a set of each and splitting the cost send me a PM.
I'm sure we could figure something out on shipping, payments etc.

I am scared if I did that I would start weariing bell bottoms again. Reminds me of the cars in our high school parking lot when I was a kid. Dang, am I dating myself?

Cheers man, I put the rear set on back to front to increase foot print. Works nicely, very stable and I don't think they too look over sized.

I looked at a set this morning and the hole are just a little bit narrower than the stock ones. I'm worried that when I drill the new holes they'll break through to the old holes and the screw won't stay in right.
Anyone see an issue with drilling only one new hole and having the gear sit just a few mm off center?

You know, if you biased it to the left side, that may just counteract the heli's tendency to left to the right.....I say give it a shot.

I got some Lightning Power ones, and I had to drill two new holes. Fit just fine and secure as well...
I think you can make any gears fit on any helicopeter if you own a drill. LOL
