Today I was flying and I heard a strange sound, kind of a pop then a louder exhaust note, so I landed and looked over the heli, turns out the pressure nipple had backed out an popped off, I looked in the area and could not find it! I have been looking and can’t find a new one for the Align pipe, does anyone know were to look 4 a replacement Or if not do you know the thread type so I could get an after market replacement? The last few flight before it came off I had been hearing a strange hissing sound after each flight; then a kind of gurgle, after I realized what had happened I looked over the pipe close and found a leak trail, a residue of fuel that had been weeping out and burning off on the hot pipe after those last few flight!! Well at least this one was not a crash!

snj,

Ron's Helipros South has a 4mm pressure tap (http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=heli&Product_Code=HATA193) that will work. Also just did some checking and found an old thunder tiger pipe I had laying around. I took the pressure fitting out of it and it too has a 4mm tap and fits the align pipe, just in case you have a friend with one laying around. Make sure you tighten the new one really well, if not the heat and expansion will loosen it over time.

I found a dubro and it fit, so as I was tightening it, it sheared off in the dang burn hole!!!:arggg: Oh well, got to have one of my overly talented co-workes get it out in the A.M. man the flying weather is just right and I’m down for being a bad mechanic, to much torque.

You should easily be able to find one at the LHS.

Mine kept coming loose and leaking so I ended up tightening it up and putting JB weld around it. So far it's stayed put.

you are the second person to give me the JB weld advise, my LHS has very limited stock on nitro heli supplies, looks like a trip to Orlando to go to GravesRC... man I hate to do it cause they have all the things I really like and my RC budget is blown for the next few months! All I should really buy is Nitro fuel and coffee!

This may sound incredibly stupid but is the pressure nipple still in the fuel tube that goes to the tank? sorry, but i gotta ask.

No that is the first place I looked, I have combed the fly zone as well cause its asphalt, no luck!

Tonight we see how desperate I really am; they have the part up in Orlando at Graves RC, that is like 30 miles by limited access freeway and secondary roads. To drive through down town Orlando in my full size Dodge is like 6 gallons round trip if there is no traffic, “it will be Friday at rush hour” I called assurance and they are mailing me one they had on the bench… do I have the patients to wait for it!

Exactly same thing happened to me last week - funny how it detaches from the fuel tubing ~) I didn't have any source of metric but found the Dubro - I think 5/32 imperial fitted OK and I epoxied it in

Stole one out of a built up demo Raptor 50 on the shelf at my LHS, good thing I spend loads of money there! I'll be flying in the A.M:thumbup:Thanks to JoeScott
