I had a good crash last Sat. and all is fixed, upon test flight my servo trims are way off from original settings. No link rods or sockets were replaced, just new servo gears, could I simply be one tooth off on the horn mnt. to servo??

Not my area, but. Maybe start from scratch, remove all horns apply power to center then re-install horns. And wait for it.......................................be kind and re-bind :YeaBaby:

isn't this when you set heli in stunt mode at half throttle and make sure all servo arms are at 90 degrees. i saw it in a video. this is a reply from a true novice.

Yes, was 'ass'uming he knew to have the swash level at mid stick, sorry.

Hey now, can't assume w/me, I'm too new at this, LOL, so I need to set at normal mode and half stick??? I am trying to set up at zero stick :arggg:..................
So can someone run down the procedure for me from start to finish,....please

If you havn't already, go watch the Finless "Basic" videos under setup 101.
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=52530
They will give you a real good understanding on a lot of the mechanical basics.
Watch the CCPM 1 and 2 setup videos, throttle and pitch curves, and so on all under the basic category.
You will learn a lot of new stuff...
You may have to watch them a couple of times, because there is so much info to absorb.

Very nice, thank you.

1.Unplug motor, flight mode to idle up.
2.Left stick at center.
3.Put all three servo arms on the spline closest to 90 degrees to the pushrod.
4.Use subtrim to get them exact.
5.Level swashplate by adjusting pushrod linkage length. (I use a swashplate leveling tool)
6.Make sure swash, washout arms, flybar control frame arms, grips and mixer arms are all level.
7.Check that swash is level at high and low stick, use Travel Adjust to correct servo(s) that are off. (Again, I use the leveling tool. The allen key trick is good, eyeballing is OK but not as accurate)
8.Check for -10/0/+10 pitch at low, center and high stick. Adjust if necessary.
9.Make sure there is no binding at high and low stick. (Swashplate needs to be centered on the main shaft)
There's a lot more to getting the perfect setup but hopefully this will get you close.
Sokal also has a good video explanation of head setup.

Wow, seems pretty intense. When I had my crash, I bent the feathering shaft, main shaft, fly bar, and broke one blade holder, everything else was still intact. But when I replaced the stripped servo gears, I realized how important it is to reset the servo arms in correct order. So another words, I never moved a ball link or push rod, everything is at oem specs on the rotor head...............the blade pitch seems right, but the swash seems way off...............I was flying it around the yard and all seems good, its just that the trims on the Tx are way off there centers...but I'll go over all this and adjust accordingly.

Yup, definitely watch Bob's T-Rex setup vids.
As for your servos, it sounds like when you replaced the gears, you didn't get the output gear back on the potentiometer shaft right. I know JR servos (so presumable Spektrum servos too) don't have a little flat spot machined into the shaft. What I do is turn the POT shaft all the way to one side, and then put the output shaft on turned fully the same way, when you turn the servo on, it should center up perfectly.

sokal is a great teacher but you can't fast forward him like you can do with finless bob :lolol
