What are the "general thoughts" about doing the
EXxTREME CORE http://www.bladecx2.com/new.gifv2.0 (http://www.bladecx2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16)$64.95
http://www.bladecx2.com/upgrade_parts3.html
or
Extreme Core V1.2 $64.96
http://minihobbyshop.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=811
It's also available from
http://www.helihobby.com/html/blade_cx2.html for the same price......
They look identical and are almost the same price. Is anyone else running either one of these upgrades? It would be doing several upgrades all at one time.
What do yall think?

If You can get JUST the gears, that would be alright, the Boom looks like Jamie's from Boomtown and that is good, the EXTREME core as a set is SH* T !
Go to Boomtown Hobbies.com for Genuine XTREME grips and blades, keep the stock gears (there's nothing wrong with them; theyv'e lasted forever for Me.
XTREME aluminum Grips are what You want, trust Me.

The extreme stuff wasn't made for th blade cx, its just parts that happen to fit from the twister heli, if you buy all those sam parts for th twister you would have spent about $10, instead the "extreme" costs$65. Not worth it, just get the metal heads and a shortened flybar and you will be good to go!!

If it flys like its caught in a toilet bowl remove the "upgrade" blade holders and go back to the stock parts.

I like the way they fly stock too. Cut the throttle before you crash and keep the weight down to save the motors.

Well DANG! Live and learn I guess. I am keeping one heli 100% stock all but the battery. I have 2 CX's and 1 CX2. The CX2 is getting tricked out to the max. Hopefully I Can find a happy balance between "Tricked out" and "flyable". I just need more OUT DOOR performance :)
I do appreciate ALL input :)

You're right about that. I couldn't agree more. Too light and "stable" for really any wind stronger than a gnat's fart but....
I live in a fairly well "protected" area where I get a lot of evenings with no wind at all. In fact I have a foamy plane that weighs just a few grams that can't even take a gnat burp but I'm able to fly it 3 out of 5 days a week in the evenings. So I'm lucky that I can fly my Cx & CX2's outside more often than many people. My problem is that when I get to Fast Forward Flight (regardless of wind) I have Blade Strikes. I'm looking for something that will help cut back on blade damage and if this doesn't help I'm going to go with longer shafts.

I fly mine in 5-7 kts winds and it does OK but I have big motors and, the Extended mainshaft. I also have the shortened flybar and the STOCK blade holders. Also to get enough control you need to move to the second or third hole in the servo arm, when you do that be careful of the rotors coming together. It becomes a brick real quick.
