Got the Blade, spooled it up but it hasn't left the ground yet and it was working fine but I had read in the manual to make sure all the screws were tight before the first flight. Everything was fine except for the screws that hold the blades on which I tightened up a bit (1/4 turn at the most on each side). The stock woody blades aren't too tight to pull back for storage but I think the 1/4 turn may have been too much. Now the heli vibrates from head to tail. I clamped the heli down and spooled it up and the black-labeled blade spins lower than the other but at this point, I'm not sure which is off. So short story long:YeaBaby:, what do I need tool-wise to get this vibration outa here? I only have the little tools that came with the kit and I'm just dying to find an excuse to buy the balancing tools I need:) I looked at Finless Bob's video on how to fix this issue but the video is too small so I can't tell what section he's actually tweaking. Help!!!!
Thanks,
G2

its kinda hard to explain by typing but you need to adjust the pitch control arms - tighten the black side to bring it up or loosen the red to bring it down.

The blades shouldn't be too tight in the grips. Pretty much, if you tip the heli on its side, they shouldn't fall on their own, but if you give it a little bit of a shake, they should fall. If they don't, they're too tight. When you spool up, they will straighten out on their own.

I was typing that... And then my dang computer crashed. Grrrr! Yea, to me, is sounds as if part of your problem is your blades are too tight. I had mine too tight once and it made the heli shake. THey need to be able to swing into position on their own. Centrifical force will get them into place if the tension is just right.

Darn!! This solution means I can't ligitimize cool tool purchases:thumbdown: but thanks for the tips. I'll take the screws out as if I was putting on new blades on and then re-snug them based on you suggestions.
Man I Love this place!!! Thanks guys!:noteworthy

Ooops.. Left one part off of my re-post. Yes, I would get a blade balancer too. I left my first set of stock blades alone. The heli flew ok. Then I crashed and had to replace the blades. I bolted a new set on and there was a shake to the heli. So I picked up a balancer and carefully checked them out. They (as many know) were not too well matched. The CG was not the same. Now, they are dead on. I got the HeliMax balancer. I really like it myself. Easy to use and affordable. I think I paid about 24 - 25 dollars for it. Here is a link to what I picked upl (http://www.helimax-rc.com/tools/hmxr4855.html)
You definately need to go buy tools (well, some you do not need, but I am trying to give you a reason to go get them. I like tools too!) ;)

I'll be sure to pass this "professional" opinion on to my wife. Thanks:)

Well, in another thread, there was a reference to me being able to do surgury with what I have in my field box so... I guess you can tell your wife the doctor said you need it.

While you're at it... A pitch gauge, a nice set of micro screw drivers, a nice set of micro allen wrenches (the screw driver type design), a Plano tackle box (so you can build a field box like mine)...
Give us some time, I am sure we can come up with more stuff you might.. scratch that; will... scratch that; MUST have.

Ok, now how much does the boot cost that'll kick me in the arse to actually lift my Blade in the air for the first time? Two years of RealFlight and now all of a sudden I'm too scared to take off in fear I won't be able land. I even rigged the heli skids with wooden dowels so what the heck am I worried about? Sheesh!!!

relax dude. Find you a nice big paved area to fly in. Make sure there is zero wind. Don't go high. Just get it light on the skids and slide it around the pavement. Then when you feel comfortable, just take it a couple inches high and steer it around the pavement. Walk behind it (at a safe distance) and keep the tail towards you. Just give it enough throttle/collective to get it off the ground and if you get scared, drop the throttle and the heli will drop back on the ground. Nothing to worry about. I hope you have ping pong balls on those wooden dowels, you wouldn't want them to catch on the ground and tip the heli.

One trip to Wally World coming right up! Forgot about the ping pongs.

The boot is free... Come over here G. ;)
You can do it. Just do not get cocky. Get Radd's flight school info. Do what he says. I did it and I am now hovering wihtout training gear. I did what he calls for on the computer all the way through. Then, one day, did it on the computer, then went outside and did it with the real heli.
We believe in you G!
