Can I put a 50 exhaust on my TT 39 Pro engine ? It has the stock TT three piece exhaust and it the bold that holds it all together keeps on coming loose. So I thought that maybe I should replace the exhaust, but I cannot find a one piece 30 size exhaust. I need to import, just no one near me stocks it. But, I can find exhausts for 50's. TT makes a one piece exhaust (I have been told it is a performance exhaust) for the TT 50 engine. Could this work ? I read somewhere that someone has a Curtis Muscle Pipe on an OS 37 (?) and as far as I know you don't get MP's for 30's.

I remember one of the airplane guys talking about the 3 piece muffler coming loose and he said how he fixed it but I can't remember. It was either JB weld or red locktight.

I would think a 50 size muffler will not give adequate back pressure on a 30 and you will have tuning problems.

If you can find one, a longer screw through the center with a second nut on the back jammed into the first nut works well...but not as good as a single piece pipe.

II have no idea about the 50 pipe on the TT39.

Here's how I used to take care of those types of mufflers on my RC buggies

Run engine up to operating temperature.
Tighten the long bolt that goes through the muffler.
Let muffler cool.
Apply some loctite to the threads just above the nut.
All done.

BigBoh, that's great. I can pay you the USD 10 (?). How do I get teh money to you ? I'm in South Africa. Bank transfer ? Also, could I pay extra for the shipping to get it send here by say UPS ? This is so that I can have a tracking number and be assured that the package gets here. The reason is that I have lost packages before if sent by normal post. When it gets to SA, somehow things just get lost. I also almost lost a gyro like this too, after 3 months I was lucky to get this gyro lying around a International Mail in South Africa. Very high risk. That exhaust almost certainly would get lost. I don't mind paying extra for the shipping.

BigBoh, is the MP you have for your 30 a MP2 or MP5 ?
