I'm still new to the 500 size machines and 6s setups and have been using my Airthunder 2x 3s 2200 mah 25c batteris in the Trex 500 and I thought the performance was good with that .

Then I got the Align 6s 2600 mah battery and there was just so much more power available from it and the motor lost a lot less rpms durring aerobatics .

So my main question is, is it that the 2x 3s setups just can't match the power of 1 6s ? or was there something else. I remember somebody saying that the performance for 2 3s batteries was around the same level of a 4s setup ? I'm curious to know what everybody else thinks that may be using dual battery setups .

I'm starting to think that it may just be the Airthunders because I can hear an audible increase in headspeed using zippy in my Trex 450

I noticed the same thing. For whatever reason the two 3s batteries run in series do not match the power of a single 6s. Why?, I do not know. But I think it is a fact.

I noticed the samething, It may just be the age of my twin 3s packs. so I got two more new 3s-2200 packs and will try out this weekend.

The two 3s packs I have are new, but they just do not put out the power that a 6s packs does.

Yea same here . I have two sets of airthunders one old from the T-rex 450 and the other two are brand new when I first got into 500's but they both preform the same pretty much.

I Don't know what causes it either but I do know the head bogs a lot easier on the 2x 3s for me @_@

switched from 2 3s TP 2200s to align 6s 2500, and the align packs are awesome. when I was using 2 3s packs I was thinking I was going to need to get a scorpion motor to get the power I wanted, I was even contemplating 8s. but when I got those align packs and flew them that was all I needed

was using 2 x 3s kong power 2200 25c pack.
now using 6s lign 2600 25c pack ZERO BOGGING AND ALMOST DOUBLE POWER.

Also changed the blades along with the packs so Im not sure how smoother the blades r running
