Re: Some shipping confusion
Hi Bill,

You're the second person that asks me that today.

We work with the dealers only and not the final customer. So we don't charge anyone's card or are aware of who has been charged. That being said maybe HP is charging for the coming shipments because they have to process their orders ahead of time before they authorize us to ship.

There are some orders that will ship from the factory and those will have a tracking number after they are shipped that will be provided to HP in a report. Others will be shipping directly from HP because they include additional parts to complete their orders. It's not unusual for a company to process UPS shipments ahead of time and get a tracking number assigned to it. HP can process the UPS shipment ahead of time and have the tracking number assigned to their shipments that will be valid once they ship the kits that come from their facility. I would assume that's what the tracking numbers are coming from.

Regarding the our shipments dealers are aware that there was a delay due to packing taking longer than anticipated and then there was an issue we caught last night before we shipped the first pallets where a hole in the frame had to have a threaded insert and instead was drilled as a regular M3 hole. We are processing the correction to make the hole larger and install the threaded insert so that will delay the shipment until around Wednesday when they are all processed and packed again. Midland, RC-Direct and Heliproz are aware of it. So relax and don't worry cause it's just a small hiccup that will be over in no time. As far as HP charging the cards I would assume that's a normal procedure to verify payment and complete orders while they process their shipments ahead of time.

Augusto.

It seems that there are many HP pre-order folks that say their credit cards have been charged but no confirmation on shipping the same day. It appears that HP is charging the cards but not providing proof of shipment via tracking numbers. Just curious if HP is confirming shipments after the card is debited. If there are delays for what ever reason some clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Being an Avant owner (Avant EFX and very similar in layout and design) I know the only threaded inserts on them frames are for servo mounting.

Surprises me that a team pilot who has a PRODUCTION KIT (pre Las Vegas fun fly)
didn't notice there was a missing threaded insert.

Then there is the guy who bought Dave Botitta's PRODUCTION KIT, he made a build log with photo's that he has posted online.

I verified all threaded inserts were in place. Here is the evidence.
I'm not sure what to believe.

having owned an Avant FX i can say that dood is right. their are very few threaded inserts in the frames of the avants.. mostly for servo mounting positions, etc. unless it has changed w/ the aurora.

My only question is that Heliproz has the carbon frames in stock. The smart thing would have been to ship the kits that were destined to Heliproz and inform them that the frames in the box were defective, and to add the frames they have in stock to the order. Then bill CX for the part. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks,
Ken

Frustrating:
Ads are still being run saying that the Big Beautiful Beast is finally out! Yet the only heli's shipped were to magazines and celebrities. Did they get "production" kits with messed up frames?

If it's only some of the frames that are missing the screws can't they open the boxes and start shipping the ones that are fine?

Why is Augusto only writing to 2 individuals about this when he posts here and other forums? He didn't even put it on his own forum.

He's a liar plain and simple. Another BS excuse... Just ship the stupid kit, people could care less about one hole being wrong, they just want the kits.

Pathetic, these should have been ready to ship with labels on them before the announcement was even made.

I was almost maybe considering buying one after stock status stabilizes. No way I'll ever buy one now.

Augusto was at the SD Fun Fly yesterday. I asked a couple of the Avant guys WTF was up and they basically told me the same thing as the letter in the 1st post... A couple people voiced concerns about parts not being available and the future of the company in general.

A little information from Augusto would be nice - especially on his own forum..

I cant believe this company. You dont say a product is released and is out when they were not even getting on trucks to be shipped. He said they were out before they were even fully packaged.. wtf is that? This whole thing is so shady.

I've been reading that Heliproz pre-order customers had their credit cards charged. I'm on the RC-Direct pre-order list and my card has not been charged. It would seem that the absence of information is helping to fuel all the speculation. I find it a bit suprising that the dealers are not providing more proactive information to THEIR customers. I've read here that lots of customers have been calling/emailing the dealers but not the other way round.

This is a real shame. People's hopes have been once again shattered. This helicopter release has so much controversy that it is unreal. I can honestly say that I had added the cost on a crash on this kit and told myself I could not afford it.Then I search the sponsored sites and almost(was on the final page to order credit card in hand) placed the order. I told myself once again that I would wait to fill my helicopter fund a little more for crash parts. Then this drama falls. A threaded insert is missing on a frame part and a drilled hole is there instead. Wow, how important is this threaded insert? Is it for the cyclic servo, throttle servo, what? How about release the kits with an addendum on how to fix this issue yourself. Seriously, we are hobbyists and can do some very innovative things. The addendum can include a code(coupon code) to redeem your replacement frame from one of the distributors for Carbon Extreme. I am sure a business can find some redemption for its customers. Really, two years of waiting and then the 321, then the 123. When does it stop? I feel for everyone that has prepaid, or got their credit cards charged. This was an unfair practice to you. You have utmost patience an I highly respect you:noteworthy. This drama happens, and guess what, the Avant forums are once again closed. No explanation other than PM's to a few people. If anything, use your forum to explain what actually happened. I hope that the people that have had their cards charged or preorders paid, get resolution. I don't know I maybe talking bunch of nosense, just wishful thinking for the masses that are waiting dearly for your kit.

Thanks,
Ken

Avant RC has lost mostly ALL respect. People who are stil ordering this (except those who has payed alot for it already) cant care much about service. You buy and avant now you are supporting a company wich:

- Dont inform you
- Dont really care to inform you
- Lies upon your face, again, and again
- Deletes / modifies all posts on they're forum that aint in THEY're favour

I was a real Avant Aurora fan. But not even i can look thru thsi bullshit. Hope itęs out soon tho, this is pathetic from a "serious"? firm.

They didn't lie about it when they said they wouldn't release it before its 100% approved by Augusto.

Gutted!!!
I thought that was it, its comming but now we are back to waiting. So Iam back to my original plan Avant or 700 I will buy which ever is in my hands first!! I have waited for the Aurora for 18mnths now in that time I have had Raptor 90 a Synergy and all the Align products. I have lost faith in the Avant the team pilots are all jumping ship ( for more money I guess) So the decider will simply be which ever comes first gets my money. Hopefully it will be the 700 It will be cheaper to repair therefore be more fun to chuck around its a shame I wont have either for next weeks Clubman Uk comp, but I will just have to rag my Synergy some.
Oh well such is life.

I am also not lying when I say that the time machine that I am building will not be released until it is 100% ready ;)

seriously though, Laurens, the comment you make is the exact problem here, it seems Avant are unable to make a heli that is 100% ready in a timely fashion and that is the reason they are getting a hard time over it! :bomb:

If anyone wants a kit that is produced in a timely fashion, get something else. namely Align. They've got you spoiled.
Synergy took awhile , JR took awhile for the Vibe, MA isn't so fast.
Synergy and MA are STILL refining those original designs.
Hell, Thunder Tiger is like a decade over due.

I'm surprised no one else has said that. I agree 100%.

Yes, I've gotten as frustrated as everyone else has about waiting for an Aurora. I can't say I've never had a doubt, but I've gotten very frustrated in waiting for this kit release.
I have yet to give up and I won't give up. and I WILL have my Aurora in hand.

well, IMO, the problem is more :
augusto keep saying:
"we're almost done!"
or worse :
"we're done! we're shipping it!"
and finally he's not...:(

for me it's a lack of respect to his customers.
i think a lot of people are not against the heli itself
and yes... we understand that making a heli is a long process...
augusto could have take 5 years to do the aurora... that wouldn't be a problem.

the problem is that he says he's always done and ready, and finally he's not...
i think the aurora is a beautifull bird...
but i also think augusto should hold his tong instead of playing with people hopes:thumbdown:

The Aurora helicopter has a few different names, you may know.

One of them is the "Avant Aurora" or simply "Aurora"
Another is "Ultimate 90"
lastly, it may be referred to , as Augusto calls it, "Avant Aurora Ultimate"

Putting out a nice helicopter is one thing. There are lots of nice helicopters on the market.

But,, when your life long dream is to design and build the ULTIMATE 3D helicopter, I'm pretty sure that your final product better be a damn close representation of that one time only envisioned helicopter.

Sure, he could go ahead and release it now. That would mark the release of a 'excellent' or 'totally frickin decent' helicopter.

I believe that in Augusto's mind, 'excellent' won't do here. It will be the Ultimate, or not at all.

Oh, just went on Google, I searched for "Ultimate 90 helicopter"
ironically, the 1st 3 or 4 hits came up as a Raptor 90.

don't worry, that will change soon. Very soon!

there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with Szabo's and HC's Aurora's that we have seen videos of. If they will do for them they will most definitely do the job for us mere mortals.
