New project ccbec and step-down

In a few days 285's will come. For tomorrow I might pick up a ccbec and make a home made step-down reg. For now I will still put gears to my hs-55. Planning to use 5.1volts for now. And maybe go 6v when digitals comes in, and use a step-down so my stock servo in the tail will not burn.

Question what wire will I pull and fold the red or orange wire? Where to plug the ccbec the only free slot in my rx is the batt/bind slot?

The step-down I built was like the align one. Very simple a 6in servo extension wire,pulled the red wire cut and solder the 1A rectifier diode(radioshack) in between, then heat sink the whole thing. I also made a 3a one so I might test both tomorrow.

Well if I need to know something else please feel free to post. I just read this in this forum maybe I missed a couple of points. I need to get my bird up coz she is on the table for 2 weeks now.

Hey Eugene, will miss ya at the fly date tomorrow.

I dont 'know' but from what I have read its the red wire you need to cut, thats why I went with the SportBEC, dont have to cut any wires.

The servo plug from the esc plugs into the bec and the bec plugs into the throttle channel on the rx (at least that is how mine works)

Yah got to get her off the ground first. OK red but your esc goes to sportbec then sportbec goes to your throttle channel.

I've seen some set-up that esc is plugged to throttle and ccbec to bind slot I think???? Its totally different set-ups. But I will still go thru this tomorrow.

Not sure you should get some input from others using yours......Just saying how mine is

Well tomorrow is mommies day so......reckon mommie wouldnt be happy with you flying with me.....so later days perhaps. I do have it dialed in sooooo sweeeeeet though vids dont to her justice.
