I am just wondering why manufacturers come out with models for F3C or 3D type of flying?
If a heli can do 3D surely it can also do F3C as I believe F3C is not so demanding on the heli.
Hirobo helis are more well known for F3C than 3D. So they are coming out with a 3D heli to capture some 3D's market.

Whole different ballpark. From what I understand the F3C machines are set up with various flight modes for different manuevers, all requiring precision and "gracefullness" while being judged.

Of course 3D machines do too, but the focus on F3C is on precision. I'm guessing balance, cyclic and pitch settings. Also the high alt routines require stability at very high speeds (hence the bodywork). You don't want the nose pitching up, etc. With 3D you need response, lightweight, power and quick servos. Also all the pitch you can get.

Yea, I'm talking out my tail feathers... But at least that's my take on things. ;)

3D isn't that big over here "yet" and I don't think it will ever be like it is over "there". Japanese that fly helis are mostly guys in their late 30s through 60s. The "kids" mostly play Nintendo or send text messages on their mobiles...

I would not say I am too old to do 3D but definitely not too young.
Personally I prefer F3C without the scale body.
I asked this question is because I don't know if I should wait for the Hirobo new 90 3D bird or just go out & get a proven Freya Evo 90.

I'm with you..................F3C without the scale body. I don't see myself competing, but at least would like to learn to fly that way, as opposed to hardcore 3D...............too old for that stuff!!

I'm thinking of getting an EVO 90 soon in case it gets replaced, in the future, with a new 3D oriented version.
