I finally hovered for real today..

I have scooted around on the floor during setup of the Gyro etc

My first outside pack was pretty scary, gyro was still off..

Second pack was a full 5 minutes of hovering, touched the ground twice, trying to get used to the cyclic and wind effect...

I am sooo happy that I managed a full pack hovering on my second pack...
Now its back to the sim to polish up on side in hover then the scary nose in.....

My advise to a noob like myself, DONT buy an Axe CP as your first heli... this 450 is not even in the same class, I couldnt hover the axe for more than 2 seconds.

It's a good feeling isn't it?

I remember crashing a blade CP over and over and over and over.

A year later, I bought a sim to practice planks, then I started trying helis.

Bought a CP Pro, and the next thing I knew I was able to hover it without crashing. What a feeling that was:)

Congrats! I remember fighting the CP for a long time too. The 450 is a dream!

You mean you actually hovered a CP Pro :noteworthy All I can remember was it chasing me around the yard.

LOL - Id like to see that...

I really would be much happier with the whole process if I could lay back in a chair & plug into the back of my head - matrix style - and learn how to fly.

Is it normal to have shaking hands after completing your first flight.
My nerves were shot at the end of the 5 or 6 minutes of hovering.

Despite having the shakes - I was grinning - I cant believe the difference between the Axe CP & this 450..
I know the axe was $199 and this 450SE has cost me a little over $700.
But if I compared price to performance - I figure the 450SE is worth around 3500.
If its true that bigger heli's are more stable - I wanna 600 now...

Nah dude, you want a 500. The shakes will go away the more comfortable you get. Try Radd's School of Rotory Flight, it's real good for getting you in the air without crashing as much

At least you was able to chase it around. All that I did was spent money fixing it.

Absolutely normal. If you are lucky, that will happen with each new move you learn too!
