Hi there, i got a nitro and am pretty happy with it but i need to get an e-version i guess. No i am thinking about the power. If i dont do hard 3D stuff, do you guys think 6S is enough? And what you think, should i go with 6S kit or empty frame an buy me individual motor and regulator?

i would still go 8s the current is lower so the efficiency is better so you get longer flight times and longer lasting lipos.

Thanks Ade, but your answer does not really help me on deciding to go for an empty frame and then add custom motor etc to it or using stock stuff. On most helis i did see stock equipement regulators for example are not that good. What should i go for?

There is not empty frames from Compass they come with the motor when you buy them new. 6S or 8S. is the choice you get.

the stock 8s motor is excellent, i abused one for 4mins which flattened the battery. motor wasnt even luke warm at the end of the flight.
if your just sport flying you should get over 5mins but the power will be there if you need it.

Sorry to bother you again, but i dont get it on those high power e helis. When i get a 8S could i run it on 6S to ave some charger and battery costs? Is this possible?

electrics are a fine balance of headspeed, power, duration and efficiency.
running the 8s motor on 6s will mean you will loose headspeed as lower voltage means the motor runs slower so you wont have the headspeed you should have.
the motor is designed for 8s so will not be as efficient at 6s which means it will get hot.
the price difference between 6s and 8s batteries and chargers isnt that different as you can use lower capacity batteries anywhere from 4000 to 5000mah is fine where as 6s needs 4800 or more to work properly.
