Esprit Models (http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=767)and Fxaeromodels (https://www.fxaeromodels.com//index.php?cPath=49_45&osCsid=5fa703a21ffb1b54ba340cbb5fe7217d) give great service - You don't really have a lot of choice in setup - 10S either FP EVO 25 3700s or EVOLITE 5350s seem to be packs of choice.

As far as motor is concerned check out the Power systems thread (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=25112)- I have been very happy with my Kontronic Jazz ESC 55-10-32 and ZPower Z50-800 and Radix standard 600 blades

Bob has done videos on the 500 and I have done some also on the 600 - I have aslo done some on V-Bar which you can access through Techno Central (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=53869)

also will the logitec 6100 tail gyro work with the vstabi?

Tail gyro is built into the V-Stabi unit so no need to buy. V-Stabi is a 3 Axis Gyro.

Best to ecplain your flying ability and desires then a better motor selection can be made with the help of others.

i fly pretty hard and am looking for a good strong motor.

30-12E
radix600's

I use the K&B 85's on my 600, but really they're too small. The 105's dont fit.

Since you're going to be using Radix 600's (they are working well for me with the v-bar), might as well get a matching set of Radix 95mm t/r blades (also working well for me on the Logo 600).

The 8900G servo on the V-Bar tail is great. The V-Bar "overview" menu does not currently list (at least on my version, which is only a few months old), the 8900G as a servo choice. Use the Futaba 9253/9254 setting, and it will work just fine.

so does the kit come with the counterbearing or do i have to buy it seperate?

the 3d kit does. the 5mm shaft version, so be careful if you get a motor with a different shaft diameter.

Is that for the Vbar kit only, as I did not get one with the flybar version?

oh possibly. you might want to double check with your vendor.

Esprit told me recently they stopped including the counterbearing, and my 600 3D V-Bar kit did not come with one.

is it a given that you will strip a main without the counter bearing installed?

th3tick

Definitely not a guarantee. It's most there for certain motors whose mainshaft isn't as perfectly held as others, or might flex under load.

What motor are you using?

John

Right. Hacker 30-12E. No idea whether that one needs the counterbearing. I only know that the Neu and Tango don't. I'm sure someone else will fill in ;)

i am running the orbit 30-12e. the motor seems very sturdy and i would like to test it out tomorrow, but if i need a counterbearing i will have to wait until it ships.

I have stripped the maingear on my Logo 600 in flight twice. I suspect that both times have been due to my poor job of meshing and not the lack of a counter-bearing (my Hacker has a 6mm shaft).

The good news is that you can still fly the machine well enough to land safely under power with the gear stripped :)
