Well...it's a beatuiful 75 deg day here in TN so i head to my little field...the one with the $%^$%^$ bush. !!
I load up and run through 4 of my 5 sets of packs.....doing pretty good....some flips, rolls, loops, nose in....have a great day.....about 6 Auto's...I'm feeling good.....WELL..
out of the corner of my eye I see a pretty big SPIDER :wow2: sitting on the brim of my hat....I try to brush him off and continue flying to keep control of the heli.....I'm not afraid of no spider, BUT in TN we have brown recluse spiders and this sucker looked like a tarantula out of the corner of my eye......well the little sucker decides to jump on my glasses and tha't when I kind of freaked out and tried to brush him off...:arggg:....and lost orientation of the heli.......it hit the ground in IU at full speed just in front of my car....and "WHAM" it was all over.....I now feel like Hawk !!
Busted the tail, LG, tail supports, tail fin, control rod, main shaft, CF blades, tail shaft, two servos gears, 1st drive gear, canopy, tail belt cut, amonst other misc items....all toll about $100....had a small crack in the fuse side but ca'd that and reinforced (better than new)....other than the blades it was just about $40...not bad for as hard as it went in and on gravel....
Oh well.....all part of the hobby.....this thing was flying sweet too....hope it goes back together the same way....
Time to sacrifice another virgin to the heli gods.......(where is that wazzer) ??

I reckon you can fix the boom though... :smokin:
Man, that's not a nice one.. Sorry!
My first crash was the same thing! Trex450, hovering. A huge spider (Actually, it was a baby lady bug!) landed on my arm. It was around the 10th hover ever, so I was shaky. Tried to brush it off, took my right hand off the TX for less than 1 second, and lost it. Heli went up, tail in, but directly above my head.... I panicked.. nose down, and straight into the ground...
My heli looked better than yours afterwards though! :o
Ouch...
I assume the EagleTree and panel wasn't onboard at the time? Or.. can I see the panel there?

OOOOOWCH!
Mjdee, that looks so sad buddy! Hope you get 'her' up and about again soon, Wazzer will be sacrificed in the not too distant future to appease the 'gods'. We haven't had any airtime for two weeks and it is doing my head in! arghhhhh! "I feel the need....the need for speed!' My Hurri still hasn't been introduced, formally. to Terra Firma" but I am sure it is only a matter of time. Good luck with the re-build (wanna send it to Borneo to recuperate?)

Now you have to get your CF framed hurry in the air!

Well..
I almsot have it back together...had almost all the parts I needed....spare boom...gear of the cf version....
just need a few parts to come in and I'll be back in the air. i am going to save the CF version for later on....probably put a Z30 in it since the Scorpions don't seem better than a Z20.
Other than the blades it was about a $35 crash...not really bad for as hard as it went in...
I have another set of 515's but I ordered some 530's from Tower. I think I'll save the 515's for the short boom on the cf and use the 530's for the long boom on the plastic.
should be back in the air by next weekend. Just really ticks me of.....a feakin spider !!! argh ! :FThat

Eagle tree was on board and came out unscathed.....that would really have been a bummer....

Not in the same league fortunately, but I was being bitten big time when flying today - one bug biting my arm , another biting my leg, and a third on my stomach. Fortunately this is the English countryside so no real danger - just "toughed it out", landed the heli and beat the cr*p out of the little b*stards when heli was safely on the floor :hammer.

Sorry to hear about the hurri Mike:shock: That really bites the big one.All because of a little
spider that decided to stop on you hat and say "HELLO":wow2:.But $35.00 plus a set of blades is not bad for the way it looks in the picture.Glad to hear the eagle tree was not damaged in any way.I'm like you though,I've been bitten by a black widow and it made me ill for 3 days.plus it hurt like hell at the point of attack! If I was in your shoes, I would have thrown my transmitter in the air, chucked my hat and glasses and run across the field
screaming like a bansheee!!! and hope nobody saw it. Just kidding but I would have freaked a little too!:WOW

bullet holes!!!! You were shot down man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:bomb::bomb: Damn...how could I have missed that :arggg:
The spider must have been a Diversion ! I'll bet this was a "terrorist act" trying to undermind the basic fiber of the US morality.
I'm sure the rest of you are getting a kick out of our current US presidential election...
I'm sure Hillary or Obama will fix the problem :bs....and I'll never have to worry about being "shot down" again......
I think I'm ready to move to Borneo......what kinf of gov't do you have there....cause this ones going to hell in a hurry...:badair:

The government here is overtly corrupt, and this is a good thing! If you can see you have to 'pay' to get what you want it makes life easier!
We have a very 'tolerant' population, no great restrictions on doing pretty much what ever you want. Find a piece of land you want to fly on..........then DO IT! Generally no one hassles you and are more than happy to let you.
All governments are corrupt (or have corrupt elements) so it's better to be able to see it!
Oh, and just to make you guys happy, we have been experiencing some nasty weather recently and have not flown for three weeks!!! Strong winds and heavy rain caused by typoons in the PHILLIPINES!!!
Really looking forward to getting airborn again!
