View Full Version : Blade 400 3D problems
Hello everyone, im new here, have a problem with blade 400... Recently Had a crash one of the blades hit the tree trunk... just just touched it during emergency landing as one of the servo stopped responding in flight. Replaced feathering shaft, main shaft and servo duhh lol actually 2 of them as i personally think that those cheap e-flite is just crap worth nothing Upgraded to HiTEC HS 65HB placed one of them on the tail as i was told it will perform much better.
So my question is http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/testvb/images/smilies/smile.gif How do i align all the stuff with servos so they work properly with all being straight i just dont get it as im not a pro in this hobby just recently started. Also need help with setting up the remote DX6i to default Blade 400 setting as for some reason when i connected it to RealFlight G4 simulator it changed all my setting.
http://xs227.xs.to/xs227/08190/efl_h1400blg830.jpg
Yellow circle: the original servo from the tail.
Red circle: New HiTEC HS 65HB
Blue Circle : new HiTEC HS 65HB
How do i set it up in my remote from scratch so it will work properly with those servos? And best setting for hover.
Thanks alot!
Sergey

the first problem you have with that setup is that you should NOT mix different types of servos on the cyclic controls.
then in your remote,
you gotta set the swash type to 120 degrees ccpm
then you gotta set the swash mixing, normally easy with the hs-65's , but because you mixed them with a stock servo, i am not sure what you should put on the mix, (the hs-65's are reversed from the stock eflites)
then throttle and pitch curve
throttle, do you want 3-D or easy hover, for easy hover, just use the stock curve
and make the pitch a linear curve

Hi Sergey, I would not recommend (read that as DONT) replacing just one of the servos in the cyclic, as they all need to move in sync with each other.
As the Hitec's are reversed from stock, you will need to reverse the servo in the transmitter for the one you changed in the cyclic (I think the top one is the Aux connection which in the transmitter is the pitch one, if its the aileron, then just reverse the aileron instead) and for the tail, reverse the rudder channel AND the rev-nor switch on the gyro.
But as I said earlier, please replace the other two servos on the cyclic, even if you just buy one more and swap the last original with the new tail servo.
Cheers, Dave.
EDIT: Just noticed you said you lost all your settings, reset the model to default then grab the list off the eflite web site that lists the changes from stock. Set it up as per the list, then reverse the servos settings as required as I described above.

watch these videos, they are for the T-rex 450, but the blade is built nearly the same.

Pay special attention to the CCPM videos.
Here is the stock radio program.

Cheers Guys for fast and most important very very detailed reply ;) I'll check the settings from SeaComms and mituw16 on the control and take all in to account and will let you know tomorrow with outcome :)
Now lets see vids from carlo_the_wonder_frog :)
Kind Regards,
Sergey
Humm just checked with remote on all and in to - (reverse) on those new servo. Its just not right, im not saying you all not right i mean I messed up big time with all setting and i thought flying is hard lol, and plus im having problem with original servo under Red Circle yesterday it was fine today it doesnt even respond, i also done a check on it and it does work but not today... i think i better take it to a Hobby Stores (im from UK London) just pay them to set it up all for me and ill just have to watch and learn :arggg:
Im just confused dont know how to explain it and and if i tried it would become a whole book of problems. I wouldnt even mind paying some one else to teach me. So ill go with Pro help from Hobby Stores.

I don't believe it really matters WHERE you reverse the servos. You just need to make sure that the servos are going the right direction for the cyclic and for the collective, as well.
You also have to make sure that the gyro is moving the blades the right direction
if you change out that servo, too
Shame Hobby stores refused to set it up for me. So here is what i have set up in my DX6i for now, please see it and tell me guys what is wrong and to what value i need to change it also by looking on top post where i have new servos.

I would really appreciate if some one will take their time (maybe copy paste would be easier) and then correct my mistakes on what needs to be changed counting from first post image where i have new hitec 65 hbs to correct them in to minus.
By the way my wife having our first baby tomorrow :)
Regards,
Sergey
