Just picked up a second hand Raptor 90 se and ive noticed that there are 3 parts missing from the head?
The main Rotor hub pin (bk0330) and and the two bearings that the hub pin sits in (HMV2112Z) are missing? they can be seen in page 24 of the manual
Im puzzled by this.. i cant understand why they are missing? if they are not fitted will this cause problems flying?
thanks

It will not cause a problem in flight. A year or two ago, people were removing the pin and the bearings for a couple reasons. 1.) Weight savings of removing the parts. 2.) The metal center pin was thought to cause PCM lockouts on some machines. If you take a look at Infinavation's R90 head dampner setup you'll notice that they replaced the metal center pin with a plastic type version which works really well.
Just make sure that if you decide to keep running without the pin and bearings that you use some pretty hard dampeners like the Infinavations or the new TT dampeners that come with the R903D kit.

Kinger,
I never heard of removing these parts, I have a new R90 3D so this caught my eye.
About removing parts to save weight: This brings to mind potential and kinetic energy. Granted it's been awile since I was in High school, okay along while. Moving parts (if I remember right) are kinetic energy. I don't remember the benifit of kinetic and potential but is this not something to consider vs. it just saves weight?
I know you mentioned PCM lock out, Im just cureouse about the weight saving aspect.

ive just checked and it had red dampeners? will they be ok?
I can see what your saying Kinger.. i just asumed that it would be needed to stop flex in the shaft?
So its been done before.. i though it had been build wrong!

The red dampners are better then the blue ones for 3D, since they're 80 durometer instead of 70. If you're still learning and hovering they might cause a wobble though.
