Hi,
This is my first post here, but I have been reading the forums for a while now. I have a Raptor 30V2 and am currently doing figure 8s - though they don't look pretty. The flying field is about an hour away and I can only get there once a week. In order to get some more flying time I am thinking about buying a miniTitan to fly at a nearby football field, is this combo a good one? http://www.thundertiger4u.com/thunder-tiger-mini-titan-e325-plus-wmotor-gyro-servo-p-13324.html

I am especially wondering about the quality / performance of the gyro. Also, is a battery really included or not? The info on the site is contradictory.

Thanks.

I would say the battery is not included for that price. Also chack out ReadHeli, HeliProz and HeliDirect. I absolutely love my Mini Titan...

yeah MT rocks, ok i do have futaba gy401 gyro with digi servo but still.. it's stable, can take a lot of wind & gusts and not jumping around. and if you wanna make it move.. it also moves and fast.

good for beginners too, just follow beginner setups on manual and your set. if you crash it, repair cost is usually quite low too.

having that same motor/esc like in that packet. works just fine and there is enough power for quite long time for you (and me too).

i made small upgrade to head, i changed upper mixer arms to metal ones. usually if you crash it harder and break your blades, those plastic mixers breaks too. now i only loose/break ball links between blade grips and mixer arms.

i don't know about that gyro but i bet it's ok, at least haven't seen any bad words about it. and if you have 4/5ch radio, you can use it's e-ccpm mixing. if not, there is a lot guides how to bypass it totally and just use it for tail.

so just go and get your mt and then you can be happy :smokin::smokin:

Thanks for the responses guys. I am really seriously considering getting the combo, but still a bit concerned about the gyro. WIll keep you posted as to what I decide.

Thanks again.

Did you get the combo?

I'm looking in getting a 2nd Mini Titan and this combo is ideal. But I am not to sure about that gyro/receiver too.

Hi Francois123,
I did get a miniTitan, but not the combo I was originally investigating. Instead I got the combo from Heliproz with the kit, motor, esc, Logictech 3100 gyro, JR servos, and Air Thunder battery. I figured that I did not have enough experience to mess with a little known setup, if I needed support or assistance.

The system I bought works really well. I don't know how much experience you have and your level of expertise with setting up the electronics, better to err on the side of caution and get what is supported. The instructions on the Heliproz website and the Finless video on setting up the gyro made it extremely easy.

Hope this helps,
Danny.

Danny, thanks for the quick reply.
I am not too bad with the setup - I do make use the Finless vids. If I can find a manual for the TG6100M gyro I'll give it a try. So far I've had no luck tracking down a downloadable manual.
