Still trying to decide on my 2nd bird for AP and AV work (electric), and was wondering if anybody has tried this one? I have done business with Chris in the past and they do an excellent job, so I would like to stay with them, but mostly what I am seeing is Joker 2's and Trex's being used for electric.

Thanks
Denny

why not the elec Bergen observer?

TAzer is more a performance heli I believe.

The Tazer 800 is intended for AP work, the 800 denotes the use of 800/810mm blades, which is very useful for AP work!! :)

As of today, we are still testing different motor, gearing, battery, and ESC options to optimize it for this application.

Testing to date has shown it to have tremendous potential in this application, with the large rotor disk and lighter weight than a Gas EB, it acts like a large kite!! Add the weight of an underslung type mount will settle it down, but autos with it empty take FOREEEEVER to land....

To answer the question point blank, no one has used it yet, as I still have the first and only one......:)

Which he very much want's to send to me for "evaluation" with an underslung mount. ;)

What'daya think of my subliminal messages.:)

OK, Progress!! At out Club meeting tonight, I put opne of the new HV 110's on the Tazer 800, the 12s packs, and a hacker motor, and flew out the whole pack!! No smoke/flame, no startup issues (except the wires were backwards, easy fix), away it goes!!

I increased my hover point to 80% for an appx 1450 headspeed, and just sat there in a hover for about 8-10 minutes (forgot to set the timer....:( ) I'll tweak the setup over the next week or two, check out flight times vs MAH usage, and add loads to the bird for optimum gearing and radio/ESC setup.

I will put a Neu motor in it, as they have been bullet proof so far in the E-Observer and Tazer, on 10s and 12s.

Nice Chris. Is the spool up bobble just the blades straightening out and going from negative to zero pitch?

I've found that phenominon when using bare skids on a hard surface. If the skids have a little rubber on them, I don't think you'd see that issue.

The blades were probably a little tighter than needed so they didn't get straightened out as quickly and the hard surface exacerbates the spool up bobble..

I don't think that pitch has a bearing on it, although other phenomenon has suggested that pitch (usually too much of it) can cause resonance issues.

A slower spool up with looser blades would probably eliminate it......

Awesome video Chris, I'm getting excited! That better not be my bird upside down like that :) that scared the crap out of me when you went 3D, was not expecting that. I like the flourecent orange tail blades, and the orange on the main blades, I want that on mine. ;)

Thanks for posting, looks awesome, can't wait!

The orange on "the mainblades" is actually a pair of orange paddles I had laying around. I was curious how visible they would be.

The orange tailblades are VERY visible and match the landing gear to boot! Same with the neon yellow that I have on my Tazer.
