I'm going to pass up going to the Foosball World's in Vegas this September, so that allows me one alternative "guy outing."
I was thinking of driving to FunFly from the SF Peninsula. I'm wondering if any heli cats might want to carpool.
Assuming we don't have to fold down the rear seats to fit your 90's (I have one 450), then some of the ride could be spent in the back seat watching Szabo DVDs...
It's a posh ride, but only about 20mpg, so I'm calculating about $220 round trip in gas to split, plus some incidentals.
I don't have plans for lodging, so that's a variable to be worked out, in terms of getting to/from the event.
Anyway, just a forming thought... let me know if it sounds promising.
Best, and have fun y'all...

Whirly, use google earth and turn on the icons like Hotels, etc... There are many close by to stay at.
Below is a google earth shot of the area. I outlined the flying location and the red bed icons are motels and hotels. There is everything from a Motel 6 to a Marriot.

The maroit is 15 miles away and $200 a night, think we are going to stay at the best vaule inn.

Yeah, that Best Value Inn looks like a straight shot off the same exit for the Fun Fly. $72/night for the military rate.
Unless a local says "DON'T STAY THERE"...I think that's where I'll make my reservation as well.
idigrc2: are you still planning to drive on Friday?
