I think I am grounded for a while
The wind took it to high and I took it to low. Gravity 1 / Ber60 0
Frame, tail boom, feathering shaft, flybar, tail shaft are the visible damages.

Bad luck Erwin. What you want is one of those EXI frames from the USA for $99. By the way, how do you get on with the pEsky CNC stuff? I agree with the Wolf-man in that it is pants too!!! I had more durability with the plastic head and tail. I find that despite using threadlock/screwlock, the screws/bolts still vibrate lose. Discovered this am that the anti-rotation rod had gone astray, and one of the bolts from the washout assembly was missing too. All I have been doing is setting up, as will wait for cast to come off before flying!!!!!! Cannot find the missing bits either!!!!! On a positive note, I am pleased with the DX6i, having spent a bit of time playing with it and getting to understand its logic. Have set up the dual rate at 80% on ail/elev to see if it makes it easier initially.

Hope you get your parts ordered!!!!
Mike

I feel your pain Erwin! I now have 2 broken Belt CP's and no time to fix for at least a week :(

I think I will join you for a beer before I fly to Kuwati (an alcohol free state) :cheers

Erwin,

Sorry to hear of your luck. I see crashes as 'opportunities to get mail'

Tell you what though Brian, it does wonders for your "tech skills"!!!!!! The number of times i have rebuilt the beast recently is unbelievable!!!!!! How are things out there in I-Rack??

Mike,

In a word...'Hot'...lol.

Fortunately I work at night when the temps cool down a bit.

On fun-fly day, we go down to the lot early before it gets too hot outside. By noon everyone is sunburned and ready to call it a day. That's why I always have on my 'boonie hat' in my videos. Tryin to keep from scalding my bald nugget.

OOOO don't misunderstand my post. I am not in pain ,I don't see it as a mishap, I do see it as a mistake I made and nothing to do with luck, like I said before, I am a mech trying to be a pilot and not succeeding very well, but love to mod, I made the DTS mod even before I could hover, Now my next goal is a frame that can take a small beating.
For the cnc bits, the tail bit is ok aldough Ive modded it to give more range. The washout assy I feel is a bit dodgy to (to much play IMHO)

Anyway thanks for the sympathy and I invite you all to a cold beer and some bragging about how big your crash was :smokin:

The last one was a boom, couple of links, fx shaft [goes without saying!!], blades survived. Have put the old gyro back on the heli to see how i get on. Am determined to wait until my cast is off because i reckon that insensitivity inmy finger is the problem. Bit breezy here today. Have been doing sideways hovering with a Lama4, with the gain offset so i have to do the tail. Flight times though are only 5 mins or so on the little batts. Basically just keeping practising.
Beer tonight would be good in this lovely wx we are getting here Erwin.

Trash the shit frame and get the exi frame...

Also i see your CNC STuff is still fully intact :) Wonder what it would have looked like if it was still plastic head :) which is why i tell people thats the first thing they should change rather than fixing plastic parts over and over again.

But Yeah sorry bout that, but on the brighter if you dont wanna go exi route a new frame for belt cp is like 6 bucks :)

Hey Brian, if you're free Friday/Saturday fly on down to Kuwait and bring me some beer ;)

I am working right next to where they unload all the equipment that you guys take up to Iraq (Shuiaba Port in Kuwait).

Whoa... Just logged on and saw the carnage. I think it's safe to say you have the excuses angle covered for a frame upgrade. That thing looks like it ticked off a Jedi

Be careful with the browser tonight, though. I have noticed beer has a chemical reaction with the Internet, turning into ideas and ultimately into credit card bills...
