How do I set up the idle up switch and normal/stunt pitch and throttle curves? How do I program the radio specifically?

OK, no one has replied so I guess my question was not clear or seemed dumb. I have programmed the normal and stunt pitch and throttle curves into the transmitter. However when I flip the switch located on the top left side (gear) nothing happens. I assigned the gyro switch to handle the gyro and it is working fine. Up is heading hold and down is off. This switch does not affect the normal and stunt mode either. This is my first Spektrum radio so I think I am missing something. Any suggestions?

Is it possible it's actually on idle up/stunt mode but you can't tell?
Mine doesn't seem to make much difference also but I wouldn't know cos I'm still only a beginner trying to learn forward flight.
Try more extreme throttle/pitch curves between normal and stunt and see if it makes a difference? If not then something is wrong. I also wonder why Spektrum can't just be consistent and name the switch Stunt instead of Gear.
