View Full Version : should I go shaft drive?
my tail case is pretty wrecked, still using the one from when my heli was ep100 pro. I need a new tail case and figure if I'm buying another one, might as well go shaft. Anyone have experience with both?

i can tell you that the micro heli tail holds up pretty well. i haven't heard anything from the shaft drive crowd yet.

from what i read just recently in this forum, the SD is holding up well.
someone posted his results.
in a crash (bend grip screws), the shaft and gears didn't break/strip.
do a search, i think it was posted last weekend.

I piled mine into a hard hall floor tonight, it stripped the crown gear, I've also crashed it twice into long grass, no damage to the tube drive on both those occasions. Guess I just caught it wrong tonight, it still flew but the tail wouldn't hold.

I put mine into grass yesterday for the first time...the only damage was the gear on the tail output shaft broke and a bent main grip screw...so it was a $2.50 crash...not bad...I am very surprised that I didn't strip the crown gear or the main gear...
