Hi all,

I am starting this thread so that users can note any bugs they have found with Phoenix or suggest enhancements that can be taken aboard by Phoenix Tech Support in future version releases, so please add to this thread.

I am currently using the latest version of Phoenix 1.05J on a Dual Core 3.4g machine, Nvidia 7900GS video card and Vista Op. Phoenix appears to run well.
I have a DX7 as my controller

Bugs noted:
1. Numeric keypad assignments don't work. eg assigning retracts on planes, idle up etc. Also, assignment of the other channels gear, aux (well, pretty much all the switches on the DX7) don't work, only the sticks function. Thank goodness for that!
2. Schemes folder does not appear in user accounts. It is in my admin account only

Enhancements:
1. Flat throttle curve. 90%
Maybe user definable would be best
2. Expert videos talking through maneouvers. (Correct me if I am wrong but I think Real FLight G4 has this)

Errrr... keys work fine for me - do you have NUMLOCK enabled?

Everything in Phoenix works smoothly for me unitl I turn on antialiasing. At this point, it becomes totally unplayable. Even the sound is choppy. Possibly 1 frame per second max.

System is a Core2Duo 3GHz, 4GB RAM, Vista, Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 256

Wow! That should certainly not be the case, but I am not Phoenix tech support. I am flying Phoenix on an old Pentium 4 @ 2GHz, 2MB, with an Nvidia GForce 7800GS (AGP) - mid range graphics car by gaming standards...

I have everything on high and all options on (including antialiasing), running at 1680x1050 - getting an avg around 60fps with this setup.

But back to the point of this thread. I would second the vote for more demos/tutorials - with or without voice recordings. I am an owner of G4 as well, and yes, they have at least 30 heli tutorial videos, all with voice. Ade Law? We need more of you!!!

Likewise, I have my graphics settings all set to high (eg. full screen 1680 x 1050, antialiasing on) and everything runs smoothly. As a guess, I think you may not have an up to date driver installed on your machine, try:

I am not sure how you are getting the numeric key pad assignments to work because they don't work for me. I have checked the num lock (both on and off) and it definately doesn't work. Even assigning the spare channels to my Dx7 doesn't work.

Sorry I take that back. I just discovered the keypad assignments DO work! You have to use the numbers above the keyboard, not the separate numeric ones on the right. That's a bug anyway!

Hi Navman, with NUMLOCK "on", the right-hand numeric keypad is the same as the ones along the top, so you might have something fishy going on with your keyboard :)

As for the antialiasing, make sure you are using the latest "j" version and if that doesnt sort it go to www.nvidia.com and get the latest drivers

I'm using the cheap esky 6 channel tx that comes with the belt cp and I've never been able to assign any functions to switches or knobs. just the sticks. I'm guessing its the radio not sending signals but thought i'd post it here anyway to see if someone else might know for sure.

I'm using the Spektrum and I can't assign functions (eg idle up) to any of the switches on the Dx7. I can however assign them to the keypad but only the numbers above the keyboard, not the numeric keys to the right. Give that a go and see if it works.

You will not be able to assign anything to these switches on any radio (unless they are specifically assigned as a usable channel such as gear) because all they do is modify the output of the radio signal. So for something like idle up or gyro gain to work, you would have to first set it up in the radio.
