I went and installed the aluimum Trex 450 tail blades and blade arms on my b400.
Works very well and holds a nice flight for me. It was a direct swap. I havent found any negative feedback as of yet.
Might check it out. I'll post a pic later tonight.

Do you use the stock balls and pitch slider with that tail rotor?

yes
I used the trex450:
Blades
Blade grips
Spool
Works great.....
I'm also using 335 main blades. With my head speed she flys very nice.

You can use the stock pitch slider with that setup but if you look closely at the picture you can see a problem.
The linkage balls he's using are too short and are putting stress on the links.
You really should use the long linkage balls.
Other than that it's a direct swap.

I have 30 hours I bet on that, No problem yet.
After checking they are straight. I think it was just the picture.

OK, fair enough.
I should have made a disclaimer that I'm using the plastic version.
On mine the longer linkage balls were a much better fit.
With the standard balls the links were definately pulled down and under stress.
Magoo,
I'm using the Align grip/hub assembly.
The hub seems more like steel than aluminum but I'm not sure.
Approx. $12 for the assembly.

Got links to it for $12?

Long linkage balls? Are we talking Align parts? I thought all the B400 balls were the same.

I have the part number for the grip/hub assembly at home.
Unfortunately I won't be there until about 1:30 am MST.
If nobody gets a link for you tonight I'll get it to you eventually.
The balls I'm talking about are the four longer E-flite swashplate linkage balls, again no part number right now.
I'll do a search and see what I can find, guys.

Interesting. Didn't realize there were two different sizes.
Thanks, Wolf. I think this may be the tail rotor I go with next time it goes out of balance.
Also waiting for the EFlite CNC pitch slider to come out.

Tail blade grip/hub assembly AGNH1142 and it does say steel hub, so there you go.

I think the MicroHeli version is available.
No, I don't have a link.;)

I was thinking of going for the one with aluminum grips (http://www.heliproz.com/prodinfo.asp?number=335898)

No, they don't have the slider yet. The only CNC slider I've seen is the EFlite one, and it won't be out til August, earliest.

They have the lever, but not the slider like e-flite.
I am not trying to put that much into my blade though. 500CF soon enough. Scale fuse will go on the blade.
I will just upgrade the servos, and most likely go with the copterx head and tail.
