Well today I crashed my 450SE - And I am the DUMMY responsible. :arggg:
After watching the video my wife took I realised the problem - but while I had the TX in my hands I was too stupid to stop.
The heli was about 4ft off the ground and started a serious wobble, I set her down & figured my headspeed was too low for the amount of pitch I was giving it - WRONG..
Just before the 4ft hover - I set her down on the training gear a little too hard - and with the combination of the weak stock feathering shaft & the weight of the 335 woodies - It bent.
And stupid me just figured it was low headspeed - so I spooled up - went to idle up figuring the 80% at centre stick ought to do it....
and it did for about 30-40 seconds - till i started to drop (poor collective management)
so I gave about 75% collective & that was the end of me.
Serious head shake & it broke the Aileron servo horn.
Left side into the ground...
What did I learn other than that Im stupid..
DO NOT continue to fly your heli if you see a problem...
But I guess you already knew that - why didnt you tell me.
Damage Assesment:
Main shaft, tail boom, 1 servo horn, flybar & the stupid feathering shaft....
Amazingly, I hit the throttle hold before it hit the ground, so I guess that probly saved a whole lot more damage.
