Hi, was hoping someone could help me with a question,

In programming the Futaba 502, which is in my Tempest,
Can you change the gain parameter from the radio (9Z)- its seems it will only let me change in the gyro unit itself,
I have to put a large gain number in to show a reasonable amount of gain, which is displayed on the home page of the gyro unit.
To show a gain of 47 in the home window, I had to put up the gain to almost 120% to get it that high,
I have the unit in AVCS mode and want to always keep it there

Any suggestions.

You have to give a little more information how you have the gyro set up in the transmitter.
In the menu that is located in the GY 502. If you have the mode set to AVCS there. Then the gyro will be in AVCS mode all the time no matter how the gain is adjusted. There is 3 modes available in that menu screen, AVCS, Normal, CMB.
The CMB mode is combined, that is for using a switch to change between AVCS mode and Normal mode from the transmitter.

Are you using Channel 5 ATV to change the gain of the gyro from the transmitter?

Or you trying to use the gyro program in the 9Z?

Thanks for your reply - I have it set through Channel 5 - ATV and have figured it out.
Thanks again,

Also, don't forget you have to set the gain on Channel 5 ATV in each flight condition. Normal mode, idle 1, 2, throttle hold.

Thanks, appreciate you help - just getting used to the 9Z programming functions and having to make sure its all the same through all the flight conditions.
Thanks again,
