im not sure if this should be a futaba topic or JR...but, i have a feeling im not using the TX right, so i'll put it here.

i've got a gy401 on my 3dpro. and, it's never flown right. ever. persistent wag.

i tried all the 3dpro fixes for the wag, and diddled with the gyro incessantly to no avail.

well, during a recent teardown i forgot to plug in the remote gain wire. and guess what: thing held like a champ....no wag at all. well, this is encouraging...the heli itself is set up right now.

but, without the remote gain cable plugged in, im not flying in HH mode.

has anyone ever seen this before. is this normal? i've got the heli perfectly trimmed now in non-HH mode. but, the second i plug the cable back in i get the wag. and no amount of gain setting on the radio has any affect for better or worse. but, the gyro is initializing into HH mode by way of the solid red light on the gyro.

FYI, in gyro sens i have it set to auto, then i set the gain amounts for norm, 1 & 2...right now im just dealing with norm.

as far as i know (mainly from reading the boards) 0-50 should be non-hh mode gains, and 51-100 should be HH gains. but, still nothing i set seems to make a difference.

any advice? send in for repair? not adjusted right?

51 to 100 does not apply on the 9303, your gain switch sets HH or normal.
If you have gyro sens enabled in the tx, you need to adjust gain in gyro mode, (when using a governor) or ch 5 if the 'normal' way of setting one up.
If it holds in normal, there is nothing wrong with the gyro, it's in your radio setup, not mechanical.
I've found that less than 40% works in HH, and above 47% in normal in gyro sensitivity..
My fury and T Rex are 37% and 30% in HH respectively.

ok..you found my problem. im running a seeker 6 and the radio is sending gyro sens out on ch7...which doesnt exist.

you mention above "or ch 5 if the 'normal' way of setting one up".

can you please elaborate? i was just trying to use the gyro sens menu to set up the gyro. but, my 'gear' switch is what controls it currently.

how do i do this? i'm thinking the only option i have is ATV on the gear. how do i get the radio to let me really adjust the gain?

Channel 5 will control the gyro via ATV and direction. Set the direction to enable HH at the switch position you want, then adjust ATV to around 45% AFTER you initialize the gyro in HH mode. You can adjust up or down from there.
good luck!
