Hello,
I am new here and was hoping I could get some feedback on some product choices for a 600N that I am planning on building. I am looking to continue to advance my 3D skills. I have an MA Tempest that I fly on fairly windy days, but I plan on flying the 600 as much as possible.
I am fairly hard on my helis, (I put a lot of stress on them in the air), so I want to make the right choices. I haven't flown the new 600 size helis yet, so I'm not sure what are good matches for this size of heli.
Engine: OS .50SX-H Hyper or YS .50 or ?
Gyro: What is the best for 3D atm?
Governor: GV-1 a good choice?
Pipe: thoughts?
BEC: I heard the Align ones are shaky and want a really reliable one, suggestions?
In flight mixture control: good idea?
Kasama head and tail: worth it?
Must have upgrades: Any parts that I really should get?
Thanks a bunch for the help! - Marq

OK, now that you've taken the advice I gave you over at RC Groups to read HeliFreak, please do some searches in this forum area. All of those subjects have been covered ad nauseum. If you still have questions after the searches, please come back and ask them.

I would go for the TT Redline, or a YS engine.
The Spartan gyro is supposed to be the hottest right now, but a CSM sl720 will get you far.
The pipe will depend on which engine you choose....
Never mind the BEC, just get JR 8717's, and you dont need it :D
About the Kasama, i dont think the difference will defend the price.
Must have IMO is framestiffeners, and G-force bearing blocks.

All of the Gv1's in my club ( 1/2 dozen or so) have had sensor failure and the replacement is quite expensive. They don't support super servo's and are twice as expensive as everbody else. We switched to Throttle Jockey Pro and are 100% happy. I hear the other brands are good also, like multi gov, but haven't tried one myself.

Engine: YS .50 st
Gyro: Cheapish one JR 770 3D w/ 8900G if you can find it and dont want to upgrade Spartan w/ Futaba BLS451
Governor: Multi-gov is the ONLY way to go
Pipe: Hatori all the way!
BEC: Depends.. if your gonna run 8volt JR 8717 servo's, get the Fromeco Arizona Reg. Everything else, the align 2 in 1 is fine. just dont get the align lipo
In flight mixture control: If you want to spend the money, its worth it.
Kasama head and tail: Not worth it IMO, but i haven't flown it.. but i'm thinking about buying the head.
Must have upgrades: Abec-3 Quality bearings, Metal blade grips (if you dont get the kasama head), Metal mixing levers, Metal Tail rotor pitch slider, FRAME STIFFNERS!,

Add the Metal fan to the list, as well as a 440mm flybar and throw the stock paddles away and replace them with Super Stubz:)

The later kits (produced the 4th quarter of last year or later) come with the 440mm flybar.

Personally I'd just go with the Super Pro combo and be done with it... TONS of $ saved on upgrades that aren't going to come with the Nitro Pro kit.

Thank you for the great feed back guys!
I can't seem to find a MultiGov in stock anywhere, any ideas?
Same with the Spartan Gyros. They seem to be all sold out as well.
I thought about the Nitro Super Pro kit, but the Align engine was a turn-off for me. Any experience with Align engines?
I definately will go with the Fromeco Arizona. I plan on running DS8717s on Cylic. What do you recommend for receiver power? How much do I need to be safe? Is a 3S 2200 overkill? What configuration would be best?

The Align engine is actually an OS Hyper with "Align" machined on the crankcase. Same motor, made by OS.
If you're going to go with the AZ regulator(good choice by the way), you can also use Fromeco's Li-ion battery... I use the 2-cell 2200mAh pack.

Unfortunately, that is a problem at the moment. Hopefully Aerospire will get things sorted out soon because it really is a great governor. If you get the Super Pro kit, the Align governor comes with it and should be sufficient, although not as feature-rich.
