Servos for Spectra G.

I'm trying to decide which servos I'm going to use use on My SpectraG.

-CCPM Futaba 9252 or JR 8311

-Throtle Futaba 9252 , JR 811 or JR 8231.

Either of the 9252 or 8311 servos will do fine on cyclic/collective of the Spectra-G. I use the DS 8311's myself.

For throttle a good precision servo of .20-.23 speed would be best, the throttle servo despite some beliefs, does not need to be fast on the throttle. In fact the faster servo will cause problems, especially if a governor is used.

If it is better to have a lower speed for the governor servo, would you upgrade a GV-1 to a faster Throtle Jokey or Rev Lock. Would it just be the same to use a slower GV-1 than a Rev Lock on a slower servo??

I don't actually know too much about the difference between the Rev Lock, throtle jokey pro or GV-1, but I have heard the GV-1 technology is outdated and slower than these new cheaper alternatives.

Even the RevLock needs a slower servo to work at its peak and not hunt at times.

The GV-1 works great at maintaining headspeed, it is just not quite as good (IMHO from what I have seen) at controlling overspeed on descents as the Revlock.

Nobody I know is running a TJ on a gas machine that I have seen.

GV-1's are pretty old, but a LOT of people are still running them.

Which servo would be a good one for the RevLock on the Spectra? All Digital ones are quite fast (0.15s or so). Do I have to use a digital one on the throttle for best results?

For best results on throttle, use a slower, high quality servo. A speed of .22-.26 would be best (I use JR 4131). The "feedback loop" in the RevLock is very fast and a fast servo coupled with that will cause throttle "hunting".

I get good results with a 9202 on throttle, running it on 2 different spectra's.
