This is how I set up for the calibration. Half of my helis are calibrated, the other half are 0,0. Don't notice a difference

I did notice a difference on mine John, but also to note mine were both -1/-1 stock, now all values other then one heli are as you mentioned 0/0 for values. My 500 for example however is -2/+1 for calibration points on it.

I didn't do it on mine and the heli hovers hands off forever, and the tail is locked in better than any heli I've ever flown. I've spent some big money on great gyros that can't touch the Mikado vstabi. I don't see how else you can quantify the effects of calibration.

If the calibration is off what effects would you see in flight?

You might see an interaction between roll and pitch. I have never seen an interaction, and only do the calibration if it is convenient.

I saw Daniel Jetschin doing it on a bench in kinda 50 seconds.

So I don't think i'd be too worryied about it

If it is out you will not be able to do consitent piros real level, the disc will oscillate and increase oscillation once you do stationary piros or tight piroflips etc...
