Before I knew about overtightening the carb bolts and warping the spacer, I did it.
I took the spacer on my mill and ran a flycutter over both sides to make them flat again.
I only had to remove .004 from the engine side and .008 from the carb side.
Question is, is this ok to use or am I better off getting a new one?

If it actually flat and also not cracked, it should be fine to use.

Jeff,
It's probably flatter now than when it was new!! :)

Should be good. We have occasionally sanded them down with sandpaper on a flat surface. Any question though, safer for your engine to replace it.
Hi guys,
If you are not having any luck with the phenolic carb insulators you may want to try one of these. Its an aluminum insulator which is sandwiched between two teflon gaskets. The teflon offers excellent sealing ability as well as thermal insulation against engine heat. If you have any questions or comments, please post them here or you can e-mail me at johan@z-rc.com or got to www.z-rc.com to order one. FYI all z-rc products are shipped from the USA.
