Joe,

Have you heard about the simulator programs that are available? I have been using Real Flights G2. I know that there are people in the UK that you can contact for help. This is a great hobby but there is a very steep learning curve. If you continue to try it alone it will be very frustrating and expensive.

If you cannot find anyone in your area to help than you have come to the right place. Lots of experience on this site.

First what kind of heli did you buy? Will you be able to repair your machine? If not, then if you can find heli pilots in your area find out what they are flying. Nothing like local experience.

I have been at this for nine months and am still in the hover mode.

I have been flying a Raptor 30v2 and so far have had good luck but I got help.

Anyhow ask around I am sure you can find someone that can help.

Ed

Joe,

No problem. I am not familiar with your heli but I'm sure you will find people on this site that can steer you in the right direction.

I forgot to tell you that this is a fun hobby and once you get into it you will most likely have a hard time thinking about anything else.

Good luck and happy flying!

Hi Joe, im also from the Midlands.

Have you tried contacting "Midland helicopters"? they are located in Hinkley (A5) approx 15 mins drive from me. They are fantastinc, and will bend over backwards to try and help you out.

Hehe, only a couple of weeks :/, still learning.

If your really in trouble try popping the heli on Ebay, get what you can and visit midland helicopters, they have LOADS of 2nd hand electric heli's, that you will be able to get spares for (stocked on shelf).
Or you could see if you can get a cheap kit and transfer the electronics over.

From what I hear, the bigger heli's are alot more stable and not so "sharp" with the cyclic, they also handle wind alot better.
