I stripped the front servo. I didnt center it correct when I rebuilt my bird. So time for a upgrade.

I went with the HS-65HB : karbonite gears, Weight 11.2g

So I installed three of them it was a breeze to install. No mods or anything. Direct swap for me.

So I am now running the three hs-65s up front then out back I run the s3154 with a gy401 gyro

I'm next week upgrading the esc and motor for more head speed.

How in the world is the stock motor not providing enough headspeed? I think I am runing about 2800 and that's with the 9t pinion. For a plastic head and wood blades i am thinking that about all I want to push it for now.

I love my HS65MG's, I even have one the tail. I highly, highly recommend installing the HS65MG's or any other good servo over the stock ones. The heli hovers and moves around much better. Stock servo hung on my heli and down she went. Once I get the basics down then I will upgrade the gyro and tail servo but that will be months down the road.

I have been really really happy with mine. My 2nd flight today and it was just about rock solid.

I even was able to run 4 battery packs back to back without crashing and even flying using just the right hand.

1st time I really enjoyed and felt ike I was learning and not crashing.

I also upgraded to the 65HBs (3)... kept the stock servo on the tail for now.

Crashed 3x with no servo damage - BUT last night I slammed the B400 into the ground so hard it dented the concrete sidewalk (ok just joking;))..
I did manage to strip one servo:shock:.
Bought the gear set for 5 bucks .. no biggy..

I stripped one of my HS65's last flight as well but it turned out the servo also fried. I've never heard of one doing this. It was common with the stock ones, but not these. I just installed it about 3 weeks ago and only have about a dozen flights or so. I think I'll take it back to my LHS and see if they'll do anything for me.

Bummer, I need to send it back to Hitech myself. Ended up buying another mg so I could get back in the air. Hopefully they'll send me a new one and I can use it for a spare. Man, this thing flys nice with the 65's. I also changed the 10 tooth pinion to a 9 and it really calms the heli down. Not as much head speed. Now, lets see how long I can fly it before I crash it again.......
