Can anyone tell me the difference between the older Futaba 309 synthesizeed receiver and the newer 319 synthesized receiver?
Thanks

Some have said they would not fly the 309 in a Heli and I am flying the 319 and I really like it.

I believe besides about a $150 difference (The 309 was over $300 I believe) most people call the 309s dial-a-crashes. What people have been saying is that the vibrations in helicopters cause the pots that select the channels to move and switch the frequency in flight! From what I here they are fine in anything except a heli. I also have a 319 and love it. They are cheaper than the 309.

I've been flying a 319 since July 4th Weekend. Its only been like 2 cases of fuel, but so far no issues at all. I have had to change channels 2 tiimes and it worked GREAT.

I have talked to a few people back in the 309 days who had a lot of crashes. Hotwings come to mind as one of them.

309 didn't like vibration. If you wrapped it in foam it worked just fine. I had at least 4 helis with 309's over the past 4 years and have never had a problem.

I now have one 319 in my Stratus, we'll see how it goes.

I had a 309 in a CH47 for a while and after I sold that it spent the next 3 years in a Lanier Giant Stinger with a G62 to shake the whatever out of it.
I never had so much as a single glitch that was beyound the brain to finger connection.

All of my recievers are always wrapped in foam and attached with rubberbands.
