Hi guys :noteworthy
Titan is on its way from Hong Kong and i am struggling to get as much information as i can to make things work, as i don't have the slightest idea about helicopters. I am reading forums the past week to retrieve useful information. I came up with 2 questions
The setup i ll be having for my mini is
E325 w/ motor & esc
Futaba GY401
3XHS-65MG
AR6200 or AR7000
S9257 for tail
JR XP9303 w/ 2,4Ghz module
:lolol
Qn : Would a 4000mAh 25C 3S LiPo 11.1 would be good for the stock setup ? What flying times should i expect. I read that stock setup gets wormy easily. Would that battery might be too much for the stock ? Battery can give 100A flow
Qn : As you see for tail servo i ll be using Futaba s9257 which is rated at 4,8V. Do you think i ll need a voltage regulator ? (And suggestions if yes please )
Thanks !

4000mAH will be to big and heavy fot the MiniT, 2100 to 2500mAH 3 cell Lipos is the standard battery. The stock ACE ESC have a 5 V BEC, so no worry about the servo on the tail.
The MiniT's stock ripper motor and ACE ESC is more than enough to learn and fly basic aerobatics with. I worn mine out from learning to fly and replaced it with another as it really has sufficient power. You MUST change the stock wood blades for Align wood blades or CF blades, as the stock woodies are really power sapping and only good for stirring paint.

Though ACE Esc would be sufficient as you say for the tail servo, i read in another thread that is highly possible i ll get a power down on the receiver as i am using jr xp9303 w/ 2,4Ghz dsm2 spektrum module.
There has been some issues concerning receiver and voltage drop below the accepted rates, that causes a reboot which is leading to... :arggg:
I don't want to encounter this problem. So... ? Any thoughts on that ?

I fly mine with the spektrum 6000 RX and DX7, no problem with that issue. Just make sure you get the updated RX that are less prone to V-drops. Search on the site and you should get some answers on how to id the newer versions.

I just few days ago saw one fix to that problem, tho i don't remember website address to that :)
Anyway, I think fix was coming directly from JR and just browse webshops that sell JR stuff and solution is.. normal RX connector, few sentimeters of wire and small capacitor. That capacitor ensures steady voltage flow to RX. e.g. kill's all power peaks that might reset your RX.
I think you can find this by browsing heilfreak, rcgroups etc forums too...
Hope you get your bird soon, you will be one happy man.... :smokin::smokin::smokin:
Quick google search for "JR receiver capacitor" gave this.. it's not that site i looked but it's the same thing..

2500mah batteries are very nice for the TT. I´ve used 2100mah and 2500mah from Hyperion as well as a 2200mah from KongPower. The KongPower battery is slightly to large to fit comfortably under the canopy. I also just recently bought 2 flightpowerpacks, 2170 and a 2500 Evolite, both seems good from a weight/size aspect. (Waiting for deans, have not tried them yet).
On a 2500 Hyperion you will easily get 10 minutes of flying with your first buildt heli. When you get better at building/setup i´m quite sure there´s more flighttime to get from it. Mind you, i like to keep the battery discharge at a safe level so i´m not pushing the 80% level. CF blades will also ease up the load on the batteries. I´m quite sure 12 minutes is within reach when the heli is more optimized setupwise.

Any ideas about my second question concerning s9257 servo running @ 4,8V, is there a chance i ll experience any problems with the other HS-65MG running @ 6V ?

That combination will work just fine. To operate the 9257 at its spec'd voltage you will need a voltage step down, not a regulator. I use this one from Align: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/18532

And something more.
I ve decided to go for the voltage step down for the s9257 servo and the spektrum capacitor for the receiver. Do you think the added weight will have a great effect at the heli ?
Thanks

well capasitor is light one and also if you plan to use another regulator.. no, don't worry about weight yet. after you start doing 3D, you need to start thinking a bit more about weight.
i even did carry full can of beer under heli ;) and still it was flying quite nicely. just balance it properly. and besides, there is a lot batteries that weight different amount.
