Does anyone use this (http://www.readyheli.com/RC_Booya_Trex_600_Nitro_Canopy_Mount_V2_p/ncm.htm)?
Also, does anyone know if Align makes a version of it? I thought I saw it somewhere that they did.

I have one also. The only misgiving I have about it vs. the plastic stock pegs is that the canopy may suffer more damage in a crash; the stock pegs will pop off, without risk of frame damage if you have the brace that comes with the Align gyro mount.

It keep the canopy real secure, and I dont have to keep ordering those terrible Align grommets. Those things last no time at all! The Align canopy mounting solution is my least favourite part of the T-Rex design.

Watching the video of Jason Chow's(I think it was his video) canopy come off and causing a crash. Made me want it. I don't fly 3D but it would be my luck that it would come off anyway.

How about a crash, wont it take out the frame?

Nice looking mount, but I like the plastice. Hopefully break away instead of breaking the frame in a crash. As far as the crappy Align grommets try Some Thunder Tiger or Maverick brand for Raptors, they hold up much better.

They dont make them but imho they should ask Jeff to supply them with the kits because this is one of the most important upgrades I have bought, the canopy just dont budge no matter what you throw at it.

Yep I use that mount as well.

My opinion(can't prove it) is that it will make the frames more resistant to breaking in that spot because it ties them together whereas the stock plastic standoffs(or I think you can get metal ones too) will twist the frame easier if they don't break.

Another way of looking at it.

I have found out myself and thru some other users in the field that the frames withstood a crash intact. In fact the standoff snapped off in one instance with no damage to the frame. As in all crashes it depends on the severity. But I can guarauntee that it will not allow the canopy to come off during flight as long as the thumbscrews are tight.

With over 500 kits in the field there have been very few problems. So fly on my Helifreaks :fly:

The cross brace will go a long way toward preventing frame damage.

I've never crashed my 600N but a have seen a couple after crashes with these mounts and indeed the central brace seems to do the job - no frame damage at all. For sure wihtout the central section there would be a high likelihood of it.

Theres a fair few of these out there now (Jeff can you confirm?) and I have yet to see a single example of frame damage caused by these mounts.

One more pos. vote for this upgrade love mine too. Don't have to worry about grommets ripping or cracking.
