Thanks to the great info on this forum and RCGroups and folks like BlackTitanium taking the time to post, explain, etc. Here's my build, N23CR; now don't all you guys get any ideas and steal my FAA designator now! ;)

You have to love the 12-14 minute flight times, heck yeah! But as a result she is a bit of a tank, I need to go get it weighed but I have a Scorpion -8 motor to install and just ordered a Scorp' Commander 45 ESC so once those are in there I suspect she'll handle better. As it is you really have to plan out your moves, especially your approaches to landing as she'll settle down like a brick; THUNK! 335 mm blades would likely help, I'll have to give that a shot at some point too but I just love the look and sound of the carbon Hyperions, evil...

Oh, and the double battery setup works with my HR-Poly Lipo alarm system interestingly enough. I think it takes the 'specs' of the first battery you plug in and monitors both, not sure, but the post flight resting voltages are all within specs. Next up will be Navigation Lights.

Also, what Pitch and Throttle settings do you all run on these buggers?

Specs are:

Align T-Rex V 1.5
HS-56's
401-9650
Align 430L and 35X ESC (at the moment)
Heliartist 500D body
Futaba 148DP (a bit big but PCM1024 and 7 channels)
HR-Poly Li-Po alarm

Happy Flying!

Hi. I am in the process of doing this scale project but got stuck with the tail servo positioning. Can you please tell me how did you manage to install the tail servo inside the fuselage? I've tried it but mine keeps on bumping the fuselage from inside and cannot seem to fit the t-rex frame. Thank you.

Take a look at what BlackTitanium posted here in regards to the tail servo.

Nice looking bird. I can't wait to try scale flying.

Drew,
Did you have to add any weight to the nose since you are using the two batteries? Thanks

Hey Drew

Time to wake up an old thread!

Love the twin batt set up my try that on my Bod and Boom Trex 450 anyway (without canopy of course!) (presume its a parralell set up as opposed to series?)

I notice you are using two Different packs at the same time.. Is that such a good idea if they are not matched? Different dishcarge characturistics etc?

Have you had any luck with finding out Pitch and Throttle curves to suit Scale flying?

I also notice you fly with 335 blades i have readt that in a scale application 350's will work as long as you dont chuck it about.

Love to get some more info from you

Cheers Buddy

Ben
