Well, I'm not sure what has got in to me these days, but I seem to be buying all the toys that my parents could not afford for me when I was younger and there is only so much time you can enjoy on the beach....

In the last 2 mths,
1 x HB FP (dead),
2 x HB K2 (1 alive and kicking and the other which I am stripping for spares),
1x 450s (going well!),
1x 450SE (unbuilt),
1x Raptor 30 v2 (built but unflown, I don't even have a clue on how to start this....)
1 x Cessna EP400 (arrived with a broken control rod and am waiting for spares)
1 x F15 EDF Jet

The idea was to learn on the Cessna and then take the F15 up. However after building it more than a month ago, a lot of office people have been goading me to get it in to the air...hence this morning the big day started

I had my co-pilot study the Dave Powers video on You Tube on how to hand launch a airplane for at least 3 minutes and off we went to a friends farm.

The launch was perfect. 40% throttle, gentle toss in the air and increase throttle. The thing just glided in to the sky very smoothly at about a 40 degree angle.

I have about as many equal hrs on a heli sim as on a airplane and not sure why, but flying the F15 did not intimidate me at all. Maybe the absence of large spinning props which I know can hurt very easily and that the F15 was foam. How much can foam hurt?

The plane acted in exactly the same manner as on the sim and then I bought it down gently in some long grass for a nice soft landing. Seeing this zoom around the sky gave me such an incredible buzz! This is the first time I have ever had any RC thing more than 8 ft in the air....

Then my co-pilot wanted a go...to see if he should buy one. I did mention to him that he did not have enough Sim time. However I felt like a bit of a big head (considering that this was my first time up) and to be honest want to encourage another flyer. There would then be 2 of us in a 3hr radius.....

Needless to say on his 3rd pass, he mistook the elevator controls and nose dived to the ground. I have some RCSuperpowers foam glue & duct tape and am going to try to put it back together. This plane has given me such a rush it is incredible!

For a beginner with Sim time and plenty of space, I highly recommend this F15. It came with a brushless power system & li-po, has large delta wings (very stable), lands very slowly.

My co-pilots photo skills are on par with his flying skills and he has more footage of the growing bald patch on the back of my head. I have attached a few pics, so you can see it on it's maiden flight. Sorry about the clarity, but these were taken with a video initially, which my useless co-pilot had set on frame delay...so the video is very hard to watch.
