A couple questions

Another noob question. I was wondering what everyone or most novices have their pitch curve set to and also their swash mix settings. My Blade 400's swash mix settings came in the box as Aile -75% Elev -75% Pitch + 85%

Swash Mix is stock just like yours.
You shouldn't have to change that unless you want to change your collective/cyclic pitch range or you switch to servos that have different travel.

Normal Pitch Curve- 40-45-50-75-100
Idle Up Pitch Curve- 0-25-50-75-100

Those are pretty standard, recommended by Finless Bob and good for beginners to experts in most cases.

Throttle:
Norm: 0-50-65-75-90
Stunt: 100-95-90-95-100

Pitch:
Norm: 35-42.5-55-70-90
Stunt: 10-30-50-70-90

Gives me a nice, mellow Normal mode, and an Idle-up with a decently-higher headspeed, and switches smoothely between modes. Oh, and I have 60/60/80 for Swash Mix with Hitec 65's. Still, plenty of zip.

ok, but if I were to adjust the swash mix, would this give me a slower responce from the cyclic? I am brand new to this hobby, so I'm totally clueless. Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can lower the numbers for AIL and ELE to get less pitch deflection and less response.

But, the best way to get slower response, IMO, is to use a little bit of Expo (+15-25%) and/or lower the Dual Rates (to 80% or so) on those channels.

Positive Expo reduces the sensitivity of the stick around the center point.
Lowering Dual Rate reduces the overall throw of the servos.
