Do any of you guys know whether the Mini-T plastic accepts dye? I know many types of plastic dye-up very nicely in a bucket of hot Rit-Dye, but some plastics won't dye. I'm wondering if the skids, and canopy specifically will accept dye?

Any experience with this? Thanks.

I dyed my paddles, skids and tail blades with Rit. The first ones I dyed came out blotchy. The color was not uniform. I kept the water much hotter on the second set and the results were much much better. Not factory uniform in color, but close. Just a few small dark spots here and there, very acceptable.

did my tail blades, turned out good. had to throw the canopy in the trash. water was to hot i guess, it melted and deformed it:arggg:. i also dyed the tail blades on my titan 50. used clear packing tape to make strippes. put the tape over any part you dont want colored and rub out any air bubbles, dip it in till you get the shade you want. once you get the color right guickly dip the part into cold water to lockit in. :thumbup:if its not dark enough, put it back in the dye longer. just be sure to dip it in cold water before you wipe it off. it could smear.

bye the way... the tail blades on the titan 50 is a smoother plastic than the ones on the mini titan. they also took the dye alot faster. 5 minutes for those and about 20 for the the mini t.

Yep, some parts of the Mini-T do dye exceptionally well. I decided to just dye the skids and skid dampers and leave the tail blades white as I will be running red & white main blades and a red canopy. Thought it a good balance of the three colors involved.

I see the black factory skids are available now so guess I'll just buy them black in the future:thumbup:

Almost finished with my build!
