i am having the worst time with this. I changed over to the cnc tail and now have this uncontrollable CCW spin that won't stop. i've tried to move the servo, belts not binding, tail rotor spinning CW from looking at left side( tail in), tail blades are facing the right way, servo arm isn't binding:arggg::thinking:arggg:

HELP ME!!!

Left side when standing behind it I hope;)

Did you disconect the servo or any thing else?

Does the gyro calibirate properly?

Does the gyro work the tail in the right direction when you move the heli with the radio switched on?

It is possible to plug the tail servo the wrong way into the gyro socket

This happened to me when I installed the CNC tail parts. Turned out that I had the belt twisted and it was spinning the tail rotor the wrong direction. :DOH

OK - if everything's going in the right direction, nothing's binding, and moving the tail servo doesn't help... could the belt be slipping? Are you able to rotate the head while keeping the tail blade holders stationary?

How much angle do you have on the tail blades with the tail servo centered?

Did you change anything else when you put the CNC tail in?

I had the same problem, check which way yoy have connected the blade holders to the tail as I had inadvertently connected them the wrong way. Difficult to explain what I mean here and can't post pictures.

Ian 77-- yes from left side standing behind, no didn't disconnect anything, gyro calibrates fine, and i can stop the spin with hard left rudder

i did check the belt, thought i had twisted it too much and wasn't getting enough tail speed to counteract torque. think thats fine. but it is spinning in the right direction (tail rotor spinning CW from looking at left side( tail in)

another finn-- (How much angle do you have on the tail blades with the tail servo centered?) are you talking about the blade itself? cuz i do notice that the blades look like they are leaning out a little, meaning the bottmof the path of the blades is closer to the tail boom than the top( if you know what I mean) and i didn't change anything else besides putting the cnc head on also.

psilo-- i heard about that and turned the grip assembly around and still have the same problem!

:Slapi'm clueless

Question,

Did you by chance place the servo on the wrong side of the boom..

Symptoms, tail holds as you spool up then goes crazy at higher rpm (all of a sudden) if so then servo was placed on wrong side or your using a servo that works in reverse from the stock Esky servo.

Easy way to check this.

Turn on the radio and heli..

Move tail counter clockwise and look at the servo arm, the servo arm should move towards the boom, if its pushing towards the tail then its backwards (switch servo to other side of boom so that it pulls back towards towards the main heli frame) Simply reversing servo on radio will not fix this as the esky gryo itself does not reverse only the servo..

The heli is spinning anticlockwise and left rudder stops it?

If that is so either the servo is reversed or the servo arm is on the wrong way as DierWolf said

Don't worry it has to be somethng simple a clockwise spinning fan with positive pitch has to swing the heli anti clockwise unless its invented its own laws of physics:D

You havnt fitted a hitec servo in the tail have you?

i didnt remove the servo at all Wolf so I don't think thats an issue and Ian I will check that but I'm sure I never touched the reversing switch, but good things to check. Thanks guys

Might be a bit stupid, but is the locking nut on the tail blade holder tight on the spindle?

lol it could be that simple too LOL

Am I missing something?

It spins Anticlockwise and you stop it spinning with left rudder?

the blade pitch has to working the wrong way ( as the tail is definately spinning the right way)

Which way does the push rod move when you input left rudder? backwards or forwards

it should move backwards!

Its his grips, has to be put on wrong.... I helped numerous people with this problem already, sadly all the pics are on the other forum...

all i can say to help you out quickly is to make sure the balls on the grip should be trying to push INTO the ball grip links when its rotating, if its pulling away from then the grip is installed backwards.

think that got it Wolf, definitely wasn't "pushing into the grips", but now the ball grips are coming off (damn little screws)when I spool up:bomb:. So I went and got the blade 400 slider. hope that fixes the prob.
Thanks again!!:noteworthy
