Like you muppetman0 I am contemplating a upgrade in heli and having trouble making my mind up.
I would love to have the EXI MA450 and I am trying to convince myself ( and the wife ) to look beond the shipping cost :)

..have you seen the new metal EXI at
http://www.xheli.com/ma-450-helicopter-arf.html
for $189. Looks the biz to me!!!!!!!!

Mike

I have and you are correct sir: it does indeed look like the dogs danglely bits!

The only problem is that I have only just managed to convice Mrs Muppetman that $99 buys me an exi-lent (you see what I did there?) heli. I may not be able to squeeze another $90 out of her .

I know exactly what you mean, but there must be cheaper way of getting it shipped from the US.

Do you live anywhere near skyline models? Its a fantastic place, I've spent a fortune there recently and they give you some great advice. Its run by Bob Johnston (demo's at 3D masters) and he's one of the best pilots i've ever seen, and I fly with some bloody good ones!
That Trex does look good - its all too temping to check the prices with thenext model up all the time untill in the end you buy the SE V2 though:YeaBaby:
I'm sure over time you will end up replacing all the parts for SE V2 parts over time anyway lol.
To be perfectly honest, if your looking at a proper Trex i would just go the whole way with an SE V2, it smay seem expensive to start wth, but if you ask wherever you buy it from to remove the align battery (theyre shite anyway!) and carbon blades, or motor and ESC the price will come right down to something you may be able to afford!

I'm near Oxford so I'm about 40mins away from Skyline models. I'm not particularly after a Trex but when I found that kit I thought why spend £80 on a clone when I can have the real deal for £100. I'm just tired of waiting for parts for the Belt CP and I would like something that is a bit more stable than the Belt CP. I am also looking for something that I can use the Belt's eletronics on in the meantime until I can afford to upgrade them. I would prefer the Exi 450 from Xheli but the postage is crazy!

I've just spoken to Skyline and they would do the 450se V2 for £199.00. If i'm honest I would rather put the extra £100 into new electronics.

Well down from £280 on heliguy thats still a great deal!!!!
Although I do think an extra £100 on electronics is a great idea. With that you can get either a really good gyro and tail servo, or a set of 3x hitec HS-65MG servo's for about £55 from skyline (maybe cheaper?) and a for a good scorpion and ESC thats about £60 plus postage. Then you would have a fantastic heli!!! (i have that set-up :happyd)
You will find you learn things so much faster with a better heli.

That trex is plastic/metal head combo just like the EXI .... and double the price... i would find a way to get an exi to you much cheaper.
