After long consideration iv finally made up my mind to get a miniature aircraft. And I'v also narrowed it down to either the fury or the stratus. to start off, the stratus has 3 different gear ratios, 8.18, 8.45 and 7.91 which one would you get and why. On the other hand, the fury has not only the different gear ratios but 10 different heads as well. There's Tempest FAI w/3D Tempest Head, the Fury Tempest 3D Kit, the Fury Tempest FAI Heli, then just the plain old fury extreme.

somebody please set me straight because I'm in a world of confusion. which is the best for some good 3D and requires no upgrades? and in a perfect world where money is no object, what would you buy?

Thanks,
Jordan

The gear ratio depends on which engine you plan on using. And go for the Stratus.

Which gear ratio is recommended with the O.S. setup?

8.18

I just got the 8.18 Stratus and building now. Can't help you on the variations between the Fury/Stratus/Tempest. I just knew I wanted the Stratus and 3D head. :)

The best kit for 3D is the Bobby Watts Stratus. Different bellcrank geometry for faster cyclic and some added frame stiffeners. You can buy the BW as a kit or upgrade an existing Stratus for around $300 (I think). I couldn't find the BW kit in stock and didn't feel the need to spend another $300.

Tempest 3D is the one I reccomend. Just my opinion, it is one of the best MA helis.

Well the main reason i thought the stratus was because i saw Bobby Watts at Joe Nall and also heard him say how awesome it is. its also one of the lightest .90's you can find i believe.
