Hi Cralis,
I don't now about that unit specifially. I use the Dimension Engineering Sport BEC. It received such a good rap on the forums that I thought I would give it a try. It's the best thing I've done I reckon - replacing the rx pack with the Sport BEC. I have had over 60 flights with it now & it works great. There is only one place in Aus that I found selling them: http://www.blip.com.au/item.aspx?itemid=34 I found his service fine.
Cheers

Thanks Greame...
So this would be suitable if I wanted to remove the RX pack, and just power from the lipos?

Yep it saves all the hassle of making sure the rx pack is charged. One of the critisisms some people have about using a BEC instead of a seperate rx pack is that you can't safely set up your heli without your ESC being live. I addressed that problem by installing a deans plug in the power supply to the Sport BEC so that if I want to set up pitch etc, I can simply plug a 3s pack directly into the deans plug supplying the BEC, which leaves the ESC isolated. Who said you can't have your cake & eat it too!
Cheers

Cralis,
I also use the SportBEC on my 550 - about 80 flights no problems. A lot of people say that a down-side of this is that you have to power up everything (e.g. inc. motor) to set-up - not true. What I did is rather than soldering the BEC to the ESC lead is to join it using a pair of connectors similar to those used by the original receiver pack, now to set up all I need to do is plug in the original receiver pack to the BEC and hey presto the RX pack will power just the RX, servos and Gyro :thumbup:
Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Cralis
What happened to the Rappy and the best ever 500 Electric heli the world has been blessed with ? We don't see them listed in your signature .

Thanks Greame,
I've also kept the connector instead of soldering. So for setup, yeah, I can disconnect the engine. Will work well, I'm pretty sure. Once it's all setup, I'll upload photos. Just waiting for the BEC to arrive.
